Yes, I know our vids have been going up at strange times lately. Thanksgiving week was rough (getting the video done). I try for Friday night, but sometimes it's Saturday morning. (I stayed up all night last Friday! 🥱) This outing was the day before Thanksgiving. Too bad the days are so short (and cold) now. 🙂😎👍💖

We really didn't have a lot of time that day. Low tide was late in the day, and the days are short now. I'm sure we'd have found many more treasures if we had more time. It is a really gross place though.😝🤢 Those mud holes really stink! Can't wait to go back though! 🤣

Hi There! I agree that the marble with the spots (from the ocean) looks planet-like! I tried to scrub the spots off (actually very dark red stuff from the ocean/dump.. Hi Amanda! 😂I feel the same way! I can't believe she gave me that little frog! 🐸💕 I wish we had more time that day.. low tide was almost at sunset, and the days are so short now.. Too cold in the mornings, and it is dark by 4:30pm! Plus that was two different beaches in one day. (Day before Thanksgiving). I'm very happy with the whiskey bottle too! Amazing... something that large under the sand, undamaged! This was a looong video. Glad I got it up on time! I actually get to sleep tonight! Lol 🥱 😴 BTW, I always read all the comments to Drew after brunch (by the time I get up it's lunch time) Sometimes I actually eat breakfast before I go to bed, so I will be caught up when I get up at lunch time!🤣 Hope you are getting out some, before it's too cold to go outside?? 😃😎💖🐸
@@massriverpickers I've not been out much lately, I had a stinking cold that my Grandchildren gave me lol, and I am prepping for Christmas. I make a lot of the sweets and food in advance so I can relax when the holiday arrives. Hopefully I will get a day out before then though 🤞💗 x

Hi Debra! Great to hear from you! Long time! Hope all is well. Finding bottles at the beaches is new for us this year. We would go more often, but it is an hour + drive to the coast for us. And yes, it's getting cold now, and the days are short. We will definitely go back next chance we get. I'm quite pleased with the whiskey bottle! I didn't even know it was different, until I got home and compared it to one I had. So you've been "Bottle free?" 🤔 Hmm, are you trying to cut back? This hobby can definitely be addictive! We were hitting the flea markets this year too, so you know what that means.. more stuff, and nowhere to put it!😬🙄 We did some outdoor bottle shows too. Hello Cathy and Drew. This is a awesome video and I enjoyed watching it. Awesome finds and I bet there are a lot more nice milk bottles there and embossed sodas. You would have to dig for them more. I know where that is,, LOL! The south shore mass area along the ocean has so many places to find relics, bottles, coins, and stuff. Lew and I want to go to Salem Mass harbor area to find neat stuff some day. Lew and I have a Salem mass Beverage bottle with a witch on a broom embossed on it. They can be found in this area to. We find the Lovers leap ones once in a while to. Nice keepers. We loved seeing the marbles that were found in this video. Lew and I are getting ready for Christmas and hope some more miracles happen for everyone and us. Thank you again for you gift! In one of my old treasure found magazines there is a article where this bottle hunter found a Jersey Devil embossed soda..it is the only instance that I've heard of that particular bottle..there was a photo of it accompanying the story
I actuay collect those too! Wade figures in the Red Rose Tea boxes. I have the big Noah's Ark to display them (I don't remember which video I showed that) The frog is larger than the Wade figures, and is unmarked. Good thinking though! I really don't know who made the frog, or how old it is. I will try to do some research. Wade was a good guess! 🐸 -Cathy
The Crane estate in Ipswich at the mouth of the Ipswich River was built from profits of Mr Crane s flush toilets patent. The first mansion didn't meet the Mrs. expectations so they tore the entire mansion down and luckily second times the charm! Went to my senior prom there 50 years ago🤗

I was with a friend metal detecting in the mid 70s on Cranes Beach and he found roughly 240 silver cobs all fused together all dated early 18th century The chest had long since rotted away Electrologist freed them up They were beautiful So every time I see a Crane toilet I am reminded of happier times I am so glad Drew pulled you out of the drink!😀Have a safe weekend From the exiled Mass man stuck in NC
Wow! I have never found any Spanish silver!! I'm not even sure metal detecting is still allowed there anymore. Many places in Mass are off limits to metal detectors now, including the rivers! The only $ I have ever found at Crane Beach are sand dollars! Lol -Cathy😁
Finally I’ve found some others that love finding stuff!! I love doing this! Almost every day if I look I find amazing stuff! Yesterday I found a gold diggers shovel in the sand! So I guess that’s a sign! Ha! Can you please tell me how do you find all the details of what all you find is? Is it just from your own research and knowledge? Or is there someone that tells you? I ask bc I have lots of interesting things but I don’t know what they are and would love to know! So I’m wondering who might be able to help ID them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Hello There! Who doesn't love finding stuff?? You are very lucky if you are finding great stuff almost daily! If we lived near the coast, I would probably be out there daily. (This place was more than an hour away). As for how we ID the things we find.. As you can probably tell, we are mainly Bottle people. Drew and I have dug and/or collected bottles most of our lives, so we have a good general knowledge of antique bottles, and items commonly found in bottle dumps. We also have many reference books, and belong to bottle clubs, and we are in contact with fellow collectors, and local historical societies. I have even contacted the "National Clay Pipe Archives" in England, for occasional help with English clay pipes! The internet is wonderful! But sources need to be reliable. In other words... Some people selling stuff on the internet don't really know exactly what they have, so caution is needed when IDing from eBay pages, for example. Old advertising is wonderful! Also other beachcombers/ Mudlarks have taught me a few things. RU-vidr Seashore Mudlark taught me what those glass lightbulb insulators were! I have done programs at historical societies and libraries, where I passed around complete (or incomplete) artifacts for people to try to guess what they are. First thing to consider when you find something you don't recognize, is to figure out if it is a whole item? or only part of something? What is the material? How was it made? These questions can help you date an item and narrow your search. Google " image searches " are great! And if you are looking up names, put the whole name in quotes " " before you enter the search. This will eliminate a lot of unrelated results, and save you a lot of research time. I hope this helps?? I appreciate a find all the more when I know the story behind it. Even so, we still have the occasional thingamabob we can't ID. Good luck! -Cathy 😃👍
This was not "our beach" We were invited by our friend. There are actually a few beaches in the North Shore and Gloucester areas where you can find stuff at low tide. Actually, the first beach in this video is quite toxic!😝 😵 If you do go out hunting coastal dump sites, beware of the mud and toxins! -Cathy
