Look at the Potash that has trickled out of the wagons onto the centre of the tack ! There must be a whole wagon load on the track between Boubly and Tess Dock ! Maybe they could invent a little railway vehicle with a pipe that sucks it all up once a week and takes it to Tees dock !?
That was super to watch, thankyou. Times I've driven the roads all along that route from the Mine thru to the A66, back in the days of blue Cl. 37s and Railfreight grey Cl. 20s - all double-headed. Thanks for posting.
You could tell you were approaching Grinkle Tunnel with all the pheasants on the tracks from Grinkle Park Estate. I've walked through there many times during the late 70's, early 80's
@@dannywilliams146 I was last there about 85 /86 . Waited ages for any steel trains none came. A lot of wagons in the yard loaded with steel ready to go .A very old Box with Skinningrove something on it ! East ? West ? Yard ? Just got photos of a double headed 37s on the potash .Followed one all the way to Middlesborough.
@Sam_Green____4114 If you use Realtime Trains (detailed) search "Crag Hall S.B." you can see there are regular booked slots for steel trains. They are not all taken up but it is fairly easy to see when one is on the way.
Is there anywhere close by that would be a step in the right direction to get my foot in the door. I live in Billingham and have wanted to try and become a freight driver for a few years now. Thanks in advance
@@jamesspence3543 No, not me. On it Friday and Sat. Getting into the freight sector is hard these days as they mainly take qualified drivers. You would have to watch company web sites and badger them with emails put ypur cv forward etc. You would probably have more luck somewhere like Northern even starting as a conductor until there is a vacancy. It is easier to move about once you are qualified. Hope this helps.
@@KennyQ08 ah cheers, I'll keep trying. I was down the tees barrage yesterday and seen the train unhooking and going around. Thanks for the heads up and tips.
Boulby (ICL) supply fertilizer, Potash and Polyhalite. It is taken down to Tees Dock for shipment around the world. Some salt is also taken to Middlesbrough goods yard.
