@@charlesevans7706 Chimneys, chimneys everywhere but whenever I try to add chimneys they always somehow look wrong. If you ever feel like it, perhaps you could address how to add believable chimneys.
My favourite so far. Almost feel like I could possibly attempt this, but I'm afraid of too many mistakes. Going to attempt it anyway. Just amazing art, I've never been so into watercolour as what I am now, it's definitely your influence. Thanks Charles, really enjoyed.. 👏🍷
This is just lovely ! Painted it alongside and I am very happy with my painting. Thank you for your teaching. Learning a lot from you, I try to paint everything you post, love your style of painting and teaching.
Now living in Noosa Queensland, I am thoroughly enjoying your paintings of my native Northumberland. I’m picking up a lot of tips too. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us all. It is very much appreciated.
Thank you so much. I have learnt such a lot from your videos and your little book. The softening technique especially has made a lot of difference to my paintings.
@@charlesevans7706 I tried out your boat on a river with rocks etc painting the other day. Listened to what you said ref colours dry to half their strength. However I may have gone too far as my sky looked like either Krakatoa and/or Chernobyl was kicking of just out of shot on the right. Lesson learnt! Rock technique worked really well though, I just have to practice and not be put off by failure. Cheers Ian
Thanks Charlie and Gail. Really appreciate you doing this lovely painting in real time. I suck at buildings. A whole row of them I could really muck up. So I may abbreviate the number of houses. You gotta have balls of brass to complain about such high quality free art lessons. Geesh. I don't do acrylics but enjoy watching the demo/lesson as well. My sister does acrylics so I don't want to step on her toes, because I love her. I sent her the link to your channel. Thanks again you lovely people. I found your books here in the US and am looking forward to their arrival. 😁👍
Well I started viewing this video several times but watched it through this morning. Very nice! I may try this one next. Not long ago I purchased the four brush set and the sky washes really began to work out. Previously I did not have a brush as wide as the 1.5” wash brush. This really carries the needed amount of water and color. Months ago I looked at several art supply websites and thought that I would need all those brushes and gadgets. Really cool to see only eight colors and four brushes are all that’s needed. Thank you for teaching me to paint although at a great distance, learning this has been a real pleasure.
Thanks Charles, another amazing painting ! I did this one today, it took me about 2 hours to complete it as I need to keep pausing the video. I love the way you showed us how to paint the details, I really enjoy painting with you , you are a wonderful teacher !!
well, I've watched this video THREE times, love the subject and the teacher! messed up in watercolors as I don't use them, am trying to adapt for acrylics, I will master this, it's a wonderful painting.
I really love this one, Charlie. I rarely copy other people's work but I think I'm going to have a go at this. I'm always nervous about buildings. . I'd like to say, for the benefit of others that I bought your pocket book and it now lives on my painting table. Loads of tips, helpful mixes and well worth the price. Also, brilliant service even in these tough times -- even quicker than Amazon! So thanks [to Gail?] for that as well. Keep up the good work!
Every time I watch you I am amazed at the beauty you create with a limited palette! This is from a person who owns over 200 watercolors, and I can’t touch what you achieve. BRAVO!!
I can finally paint rocks that look like rocks!! Thank you for these wonderful videos! I am learning so much from your technique. Feels like I am making progress in my watercolor journey.
Such a generous entertaining informative session. Thank you so much for all the enjoyment and knowledge you contribute to so many of us. Chris from Sydney
Charles, that was amazing. I couldn't take my eyes off your paper.lol I noticed u didn't wear your reading glasses for all that fine detail. That was a beautiful, beautiful painting. I loved it. Thank you. Bless u from America.🤗
Hello! Thank you for this video and all the others! I'm french: I dont understand all what you say but I do understand all what you paint! I ordered part of your material: I look forward to trying it! Time is less long in your company.
When I first started with watercolour painting I made the biggest mistake anyone could make. I spent too long drawing out my picture in pencil and had it absolutely perfect. Then I wet my paper to do my first wash and that is when I noticed my mistake. I had accidentally used a water soluble graphite pencil and I lost most of my lovely picture. However I did learn a very valuable lesson, always check what type of pencil you are using. LOL Regards Christine 🙋♀️🇦🇺👍🏻
@@easternshoreendoscopy8247 I mostly use any 2B or HB graphite pencils but make sure that it does not have a paintbrush symbol printed on it. Really any cheap pencils will do the job for you the job.🙋♀️🇦🇺
Just like to say I really enjoy watching your videos. I am new to watercolor painting, and your videos are quite useful. I ended up getting one of your books!
As a newcomer to watercolor, I'm so excited for your tutorials! I just ordered you Pocketbook! I also bought a few art supplies today as a Mothers Day present to myself!! I love your helpful tips, and love your humor ❤ please do not stop! Thanks, ever so much!
I loved the sketch and the perspective of the buildings, lovely colours. Again an inspiration for me to pick up the brushes and try and do some clouds that look like clouds! Thank you.
Thank you Charles. I am loving your videos. Very inspiring. I live in Australia and am keen to apply your methods and tips to the Australian landscape which is completely different to England. Thanks again and I look forward to viewing more of your videos. I love both the landscapes and the seascapes.
Love it as usual. Makes me realise I really must draw the marina in which we have been confined for the last 6 months (canals closed in winter) - a big challenge.
I loved it. Quite fun. I have bought your acrylic book for two of my grandchildren along with paints and canvases....they are having a great time in their 'quarantine', practicing your instructions.
Fabulous, Charles! It's a pleasure to watch you painting! I think....I will try this dream painting, because I dream on Nothumberland since I was in school and I learned english language! Two words fascinated me, all my life: Northumberland and umbrella! :) Great artist u are!
Wooooo hooo thanks Charlie I just love this painting thanks so much. This was the Same backdrop as the photo I took as a memory of our last Hol with my Father in law You’re a star. 🌟 🥰 Wendy xx
Thank you SO much! I learned more in this one tutorial than in dozens of others. Your “digital painting” has me laughing. I’ll be ordering your books if they’re available in the US.
Thank you once again Charles. Do you always use ‘rough’ paper for these styles of land and seascape paintings and if so, why? Does the rough paper help with the ‘lifting out’? OK, here’s my moan to counterpoint the “too many watercolours” comment you mentioned - not enough watercolours, more please! Seriously though, thank you so much for passing on and demonstrating your vast, talent, knowledge and skill, greatly appreciated.
Charlie, do you use Aquafine paints for ALL your watercolours or just your demos? ps Thank you so much for your free tuition, its very much appreciated.😀
Hi Mr. Evans - really love this painting. thank you. When you say sand watercolor, do you mean buff titanium or Naples yellow hue? I cannot seem to find one named ‘sand’. Or do you have alternate choices? Many thanks.
