Nice vlog, on the Q8 hand, it’s ok to steal blinds, but when a reg 3 bets you and you have a trashy hand, just fold. His betting line was optimistic, but heads up it wasn’t that far out of line. Save your money and make moves on players showing weakness.
Great episode! Thanks for the shoutout. You only have one combo there that you don't raise for protection and it's Ace of Spades and King X. So when I jammed I knew I was good, thinking you would have raised your kings already but then you hesitated and I thought maybe you didn't know what protection meant and were about to call down with like KQ or K10. I honestly put you on JJ or 1010 with the call, which I was shocked you did call if you had those being that I am out of position triple barreling but running with your read and having a bluff catcher makes more sense! Are you still in Austin?
KK on T8xtt: I'd consider x'ing or betting small. Flop is not good for your range but it's not that great for a 3b caller either. Villain has mostly pp and suited big cards/connectors. Most of those are in really bad shape, and the ones that aren't either have you in bad shape or are nearly even (QJdd/J9dd), so they're not folding and might raise.
When u had pocket aces and he won the pot with ace king. U could of put in a larger bet than $75. To say maybe $150-200. To stop the flush and put him off his hand before the turn came. He probably would of folded. Or maybe not. When there was 2kings on the table it was fold time…. On the turn. Hard to do. But i would of folded lol.
Yeah, looking back at this hand almost a year later, I definitely think we could have folded to his aggression after the second king fell. I don't think we're getting him off his hand after he sees the first king, though.
On the hand that you had Q8o on the button, I don't know what he had yet, but I don't think he has the Kings. However, I think there is a really good chance that he still has you beat with a pocket pair better than eights. Your thought process that he's bluffing is good, but I still think he has something. I'd fold.
I think the Q8o from the BTN wasn't a great call pre. I thinks there are even worse hands to call the 3bet if you are trying to get tricky. Even hands like 86o/s might be better given that it's not shared with vills 3bet range, whereas Q8o might be up against a better Q and doesn't have flush equity. You kinda leveled yourself into a mess i think. If you are sticking to your plan though, you can put vill in a rough spot by jamming on the turn. The board was much better for your range. Additonally, I have NO CLUE why vill would jam river. You have a ton Ks, connecting 2-pair, sets, and even straights in your range. That is almost suicidal for vill, even if he has AK. If he checks river, you could have jammed then otherwise to put on pressure. BTW, I like your interface and overall, I like the vlog.
Hey, I think your comment is pretty damn on point! I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said here. And I'm glad to hear you like the overlay! Thanks for watching and the great feedback. Will keep working on my game!
I've seen my share of bluffs at $1/2, but I have called down light in some spots I shouldn't for sure. I should probably do it less against players I haven't played against previously.
On the AA KKK hand, it doesn't matter what you know about your opponent when that second King comes out bcz you're playing the cards at that point and the likelihood of anyone having a single king is very good there especially with him raising like that. i mean if he were a professional and big game player sure maybe he'd bluff bet at that but you're playing normal people poker with like some dude's rent money. so he had it there was no need to call. better safe sometimes than sorry.
@@HuggiePoker The JJ hand you said "Ok, I'll pay you off" and immediately showed. He didn't muck until you showed. Edit: He held his cards in his hand until you showed.
Ahh, I see. It might not have been clear in the captions, but he said "you're good" before I showed. I only revealed my hand since it sounded like my read on him having air was correct. I didn't expect this player to be slow-rolling or angling from some earlier discussion with him at the table. I think if I force him to show his hand first after he says that, then I'd be the one slow-rolling him at that point.
@@HuggiePoker well i have seen people say "you're good" and then proceed to turn up their hand and win the pot after the other person showed. More than once. Notice he held it until after you showed. What's the purpose of that if he knew he was beaten?
@@MaydayAggro I've been in this scenario with the roles reversed, though I generally just show my hand these days if I'm the last bettor. Never muck your hand till you see a winner, and him not mucking there until I show the winner makes sense to me. Sure, maybe I'll get angled or slow-rolled at some point, but I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt until someone proves otherwise.
In some cases in would, but I can pretty much deduce the range of hands they're on based upon the showdown and results. It was a friendly meetup game, I don't mind keeping it friendly.
