There are at least five things I like about your vlogs: the clear card graphics, your reasonably factual commentary, the realistic stakes, the camera quality, the fact background sounds are (deliberately) muted mostly. Ty! 😀
Thank you!! Making great progress on the 2022 goal too, I might have to revisit it and reach for an even higher goal than anticipated in the coming months. 😄
Congrats on attaining your goal. Just a comment if you are talking to us maybe look into the camera lens as apposed to off to the side as if you are talking to someone else.
Hey, thanks man! Yeah, sorry about the looking off to the side thing. When I look at the camera picture to make sure I've got the frame centered, that's what ends up happening. Not my intention, but obviously is the result.
I've got 5 guys from my Poker club flying out to the Lodge mid Feb. I'm the only one that has played there before. Maybe we will get a chance to see you.
Nice session! Congrats on hitting your goal (and the Xbox)! One thing that might differentiate you from other vlogs is to indicate at what point the hand occurs within the session in the graphics, either by time (e.g., 1hr 23m) or by hand number (e.g., Hand #10). Maybe in the empty box to the left of your stack size?
Thanks, Sargon! I originally was taking advantage of the RU-vid chapters features for hands, but it stopped working. I think they're still beta testing it, or not having it work on all videos from the searching I did, but it's unclear why. I might give it another shot to see if it still works, if that would be helpful. I also noticed Brad Owen started including the time that the hand occurred in the corner of his video. Maybe that would accomplish the same goal, depending on what you're looking for.
For me, the interesting info is to get a sense for if your reviewed hands occur close to each other, or if there’s a long time between reviewed hands. I noticed Brad adding the time, which helps, but it still requires the viewer to figure out in their head the difference between the time from one hand to another. Including the hand number also reiterates how many hands are not being reviewed (because you folded or they weren’t interesting). I think the chapters are more useful to just separate, the intro, hand reviews, and session results, not chapters for individual hands.
Yup, it most certainly is. My suggestion aims to reiterate this information, similar to how you say your position, hand, and board cards as well as display them in the graphics.
@@kingsargon Makes sense, thanks for sharing! I can't promise it's a change I'll be able to make right away since editing the base overlays I use is pretty time consuming, but I'll definitely look into it.
Just studied on my own. I read a bunch of books and played a lot about 15 years ago, but I've hardly touched the game since then prior to getting back into it 6 months ago.
Yeah I really do enjoy hearing your thought process when you recount the hands. Didnt know how you studied. Ill b honest most of my studying has come from watching live streams, mainly the Lodge and Skull Mike's commentary. I have read a few books lately too. But I have been trying to either observe or listen to vlogs and Livestreams.
I think it's exciting at first glance. It'll bring a lot of attention to poker in the area, particularly at that venue. Not sure about long term, it could result in a change in play style there, becoming a bit more challenging of a game overall. I guess time will tell in that regards.
Are you talking about the actual texture of the tables, or you mean the field of players sitting at the table? I actually like the texture of the tables at The Lodge, if that's what you mean.
