Blueberries are so good for you, a great antioxidant 🫐 We have a lot of low bush wild blueberries here on our property, and we planted high bush here as well. Last year we lost them all due to a very wet Spring/summer, and the birds, etc. We have had some very good years, and have frozen up many gallons of blueberries in the past. My husband loves them in homemade pancakes or muffins, but also right off the bush. Thank you for sharing some history. Have a blessed week!
That's really cool you guys have so many of them to enjoy as well. Delicious and nutritious is a good combo. Mentioning homemade blueberry pancakes has me drooling just thinking about them. 🤤 I wish you a wonderful week as well, Kat.
Blueberries are my favorite! Maine is covered with the very low bush tiny wild blueberries. Won't be harvesting until sometime in July, though. Your vegetation is far ahead of ours. Congratulations on the free food! ☺
They are delicious, aren't they? My favorite as well. I almost feel bad when I watch videos from you guys up in Maine still having snowstorms when people here have been mowing their grass for 2 months. All places have their plusses and minuses though. Here's hoping we both get a strong harvest of our favorite berries!
Isn't that awesome having foods just growing wild on your land? It's my long term goal to breed domestic food plants to eventually become perennial in my environment and spread like weeds on their own. My blueberries and blackberries are just now starting to ripen and I've even caught birds and an armadillo snacking on them. They can have all they want as long as they leave some for me to enjoy as well.
Good idea. I'll have to research how to do that under my conditions since I don't have a computer or even rudimentary technology skills. It's a miracle I've been able to do a youtube channel with my phone now that I think about it. I've caught glimpses of armadillos at night and can hear them scurry through the woods so I'd like to get some pics or video of them. I've got no problem sharing the blueberries with my animal neighbors.
@@TheBackwoodsHermit lol, I know what you mean. I’m still learning all this stuff myself. I do have several trail cams that are great for both security purposes and catching wildlife. They’re activated by motion and the lithium batteries can last for months, depending on how often they’re triggered, before needing to be charged.
@@TheBackwoodsHermit yes. Mine are connected somehow to my AT&T cell service. My plan is $5 per month per camera. The camera will send a notification that it was triggered and I can see the picture it took and I have the option to request a 15 second video. The videos cost an extra $5, but you get 50 for that from any camera on the account to use whenever you want them. I can download them straight to my phone without ever having to visit the camera. I use the Tactacam Reveal XB cameras, but there are many options. If you don’t have cell service, you can still pull the SD card to retrieve the data
