It was fantastic to make this video with you and Luke! Glad you finally got to film the lights. I really love that Picnic on the Piste area even outside of Christmas it’s a lovely area. Let’s make a another video in the new year 😀

Picnic on the Piste is a definite hidden highlight. As you gathered, we really enjoyed making this video with you, thank you for everything, and yes, definitely, let's do it again in the new year. I will hopefully have improved my set-up by then in terms of audio, and perhaps with a camera/phone that is better in low light. Have a lovely Christmas and New Year:) Angela and Luke

@@sparkle935 You will love the whole area, in particular the miles of beach but so much is nearby to explore like the New Forest, Sandbanks, Studland, Swanage, Hengistbury, the list goes on. Boscombe seafront itself is very nice, East Cliff, the goats.... Anyway, enjoy!

@@ChattyWalkswithAngela aww it sounds so lovely Angela, I spent six months in Boscombe in 2013 when they were just building the little coffee bars in the lower gardens and I totally fell in love with the place, and my mother was a student at Salisbury college too in her younger years...🏖️🤗

I know, it's been a bit of a gap with Cyprus and Italy back-to-back. It is a very nice place for a Christmas walk; some London walks are on their way very soon:) Hope you are both well, Angela

Great amicable video by you and Explorizm. Very interesting background knowledge too. I've made various other comments regarding this video too.

Yes, it was very nice to wander the market with someone to exchange views with and who had proper expertise around Bournemouth. I haven't yet mastered shared audio mics between two people (we were only using one), so I hope to improve on that in future. Also, my old Osmo Pocket that I use for filming is not very good in low light, hence the video not being quite as sharp as during daylight hours. I'm working on upgrading my equipment. And yes, thank you for your super-helpful comments below - I have now responded to all of them (I think!). Angela

The machine that grooms the ice on an ice rink is called a Zamboni. Although invented by an American, Frank Zamboni, it's actually a bit of a Canadian icon due to ice hockey being a Canadian institution. Any self respecting Canadian (such as myself!) would be very familiar with the term Zamboni. If my fellow Canadians Chris & Sandra are reading this, they will know exactly what I mean. Often during the break in an ice hockey game, when the Zamboni comes out to regroom the ice, there is a bit of a cheer. Understandably, Zamboni is not a term widely known here in the UK. 🇨🇦🇬🇧

Not a fan of hockey, but yes Zamboni is a term we're well brought up knowing 😂 Sandra (that's me) of Chris & Sandra 👋

@@chineymo Oh Hello there Sandra. I have to admit I never got into hockey at all either! I just remember Zamboni. Regards to you and Chris.

Well hello there Sandra, lovely to hear from you:) And this is fascinating information about the Zamboni. I wasn't kidding, when I was falling around all over the ice, I was far more interested in driving the ice clearing machine! Do Canadians learn ice skating from a very early age or is it just a hobby the same as anywhere else?

@@ChattyWalkswithAngelaHi! I think it's just up to the family, if they introduce skating as a winter pass time or maybe in school they take you or you outgrow it. My brother is a hockey fan so his kids were skating at 2 yrs and were in hockey leagues and still get on the ice in their 30's. My skates were hung up before my teens. Lol

Mum and i just watched this video. Bournemouth is looking quite lovely! Almost as though it was on the Riviera. There was mention in the video that the Christmas lights etc are not what they used to be and that it may get worse before it gets better but that "they will sort it out". I don't know what it was like before so I have no yardstick to measure this year against but it didn't look at all bad to me. I rather liked the fsct that it was rather subdued, though i do also like out snd out lights too. I'll see about looking up past years videos to compare.

Yes, Bournemouth definitely gets a sort of riviera feel about it, especially in the summer - it was specifically built as middle and upper class Victorians developed a liking for going to the seaside. Bournemouth is undoubtedly struggling with the economic crisis afflicting so many of our towns and cities, but the beach is fabulous and keeps the tourists coming back. All the best, Angela
