I love mine. I’m by no means an avid smoker, nor do I take any “hobby” into cigar culture really. It’s simple, it’s modern, and with the boveda packs it takes all the thinking out of it.

Absolutely, it's such an easygoing humidor that's great for both the casual and keen cigar smoker!

Have you had any negative issues? Just received mine about a week ago. Love it however today noticed a black buildup in each corner. Called Boveda they quickly responded. Will get back with me next week. I think it has something to do with the small magnets. had to relocate my cigars un til I hear back from Boveda. Any thoughts? I am all ears.

@@jameskellett2734 hmmmm I haven’t had any issues with mine... was it on the inside or outside? Was it perhaps something iron based that attracted to the magnets? Was there possibly any existing mold on your current cigars that migrated and started growing within the box off the bat? Any sunlight? Hopefully you get it squared away!

Like most people I started out with a pretty basic 20-30 count wooden humidor and I agree that you cannot beat the smell of a well maintained humidor full of cigars. With that said, as I've started taking my cigar hobby a bit more seriously and started investing in multiple boxes I've found stuff like Lock and Lock containers (which don't have a strong plastic odour) are ideal and very affordable. The best part is that all the money I save on storage can go directly onto the cigars instead! I'm definitely keeping my desktop humidor for singles but otherwise everything is stored in the box in a container. From what I understand these Boveda humidors are really designed towards being able to display your cigars without having to use a glass topped humidor... but then like you pointed out you need to be careful where you keep it to avoid sunlight, temp spikes etc. The main problem for me is that the cigars I'd want to display e.g. my Cohibas are NOT the cigars I'd be offering to anyone because I'm definitely not that well off! :D I dunno maybe I'll pick one up down the road somewhere but right now I'm all about more cost effective storage. Great video guys!

Hi Christopher, I understand completely what you mean. I personally have a Boveda as well as a wooden desktop humidor that I use for the storage in my study. However, the bulk of my cigars are kept in coolidors that I keep in my cellar. It's a cost-effective solution and works very well! Best, CP

Good review and good points on this product. At $200 for a 75 count, there are definitely better options out there.
@Bespokeunit
@Bespokeunit 6 лет назад
Thanks for the kind words! Don't get us wrong, we still think it's a great product but it really depends on your needs! As a display piece, it's great being transparent. However, for pure storage, there are indeed more appropriate options. That said, the small ones are wonderfully convenient when storing small parts of your collection separately! What's your storage of choice? Do you have a traditional wooden humidor or have you gone for acrylic? Best, CP
@sonnakabana
@sonnakabana 6 лет назад
Yes, indeed. I don't disagree with you quite the opposite. Depending on the application these are well designed storage units. As for me the wood boxes the cigars come in sit in my wine fridge with a ton of boveda packs. The setup is doing me well.
@Bespokeunit
@Bespokeunit 6 лет назад
Wineadors are an indeed excellent option. I know that Paul has one, which he uses as his primary storage solution beside a few cooladors. Between him and I, we simply do it like you with a ton of boveda packs. Works a charm! Best, CP

Yes, I missed a word out there! Both you and Paul have a much better setup than me, which makes me think that I need to invest in a wineador. I use two wooden desktop humidors (one's quite small for my Nubs) and everything else goes up the humid void of my chimney in a few Boveda bags. It's rustic but does the job. I'll upgrade when winter comes rolling around and I'll need the fireplace to stay warm! Best, CP

Thank you for this review folks! I’m in two minds on going for this humidor or a Adorini deluxe. I like the idea of this humidor because it’s low maintenance. But I love wooden the look and style of a wooden humidor. So can these be used for long term storage in a dark space? Ie. Months, even years? I’d love to hear back. Again, thank you again for this review :).

Hi Craig, Thanks for the subscribe! Yes, I don't think that you'll be disappointed by an acrylic humidor. We use the larger Boveda model as a control step for all of our reviews. Like you said, it's a great low-maintenance option. You can also add cedar sheets or splints from boxes if you really miss the smell that a wooden one provides. All the best, BU

Hey there. Great videos, I just went on a binge haha. I have a couple of questions regarding the small acrylic humidor. 1. If I place 2 69% boveda packs into the humidor, do I need to buy a hygrometer? I don't have one and not sure if I need to buy one. 2. If i keep the humidor out of sunlight, and protected, changing out the 2 69% packs every 6 months or so, how long can my cigars last in this small acrylic humidor? I do not plan on opening it that much. Thank you!
@Bespokeunit
@Bespokeunit 3 года назад
Hi Sukhbir, Although Boveda packs are quite reliable, especially in the acrylic humidor, I would recommend that you still buy a hygrometer. You can pick up some quite cheaply and we have a guide with recommendations: bespokeunit.com/cigars/hygrometers/ I personally recommend the Hygroset II, which tends to offer the best value for money. Otherwise, the Boveda Butler is great, too. As long as you replace the Boveda packs when they dry out, your cigars should pretty much last indefinitely in the humidor! Hope this helps!

I was told that You are supposed to use one pack per 25 cigars How come the small one had two packs in it If it only holds 20? I'm new to all of this
@Bespokeunit
@Bespokeunit 11 месяцев назад
You are correct that one pack corresponds to 25 cigars. We used more in this video for staging purposes. Still, you'll want to keep a hygrometer with your cigars to monitor the RH and make sure it's where you want it. If for some reason the humidor is not reaching your desired RH, you'll want to try adding another pack. Rafael

Hello, I really liked your post. My question, I have recently returned from Havana with a 25 box of Cohiba Robustos. I just ordered the small Broveda humidor and their hydrometer. Should I use both of the 69 packets or the 65? I heard the 65 is better for Cubans because they mold at higher RH. I am new to this so anything would help. Thank you
@Psykel
@Psykel 4 года назад
Waaaaaay late answer. But Boveda themselves has said the 65 is for cubans and 69 for NC’s. That’s how I do it and it works great.

When you talk about this acrylic humidor is not good for longterm storage, how long are you considering to be longterm? I have the small acrylic, but its time to upgrade and I don't know whether to get the 75ct Boveda or go with something like a Diamond Crown.

CP uses his for mid-term storage (weeks to months). It's fine for long-term storage too. However, since it's exposed to the light, you'll need to keep it somewhere dark for that.

Hello, So I recently bought the large boveda acrylic humidor and have noticed that plastic smell. When I left the top off for several hours and then put it back on over night unfortunately the smell was still there in the morning. I've put some baking soda in to absorb the odor as an experiment and it seems to be working a little bit. Does the smell dissipate over time? Most importantly do they effect the cigar's taste in your experience ( you said you own one and use it right?). Thank you.
@Bespokeunit
@Bespokeunit 3 года назад
Hi Pat, If you check out our cigar reviews on this channel, you'll notice that we always use the Boveda humidor as a control step to acclimate our cigars beforehand. We've not had any issues with the smell but here are a few things that you can do: - Baking soda is a good step. You can also use a 5% white vinegar solution to wipe down the interior. Let it sit open for a few hours and then rinse with mineral or distilled water. While vinegar does have a smell, it evaporates quickly. - I would leave it open for longer than just a few hours. For instance, I had a coolidor that I had to leave open for two days but it's not the same material. - Introduce cedar splints into the humidor for a while. This can help not only absorb the odour but impart a new one, which is much more pleasant. After using the Boveda acrylic humidor for several years, it now smells of cedar and cigars whenever I open it. So rest assured that it goes away eventually! All the best, CP

Why do you put in there TWO 69% RH Packs if the size of the small box is only for about, lets say 20 robustos, i read that for each 25 cigars you just put a pack in there
@Bespokeunit
@Bespokeunit 6 лет назад
Dear Mario, You can't "overdo" using Boveda (note this is not true for seasoning), so using two packs is not an issue and will make them lost longer. In my larger humidor, and from what I discussed with the guys from Boveda it's good to rotate new and partially used Boveda packs out of the humidor as they go through their lifestyle. It's all about making it as simple and stress free as possible. Cheers - Paul
@mariocinquemani3134
@mariocinquemani3134 6 лет назад
Bespoke Unit Thank You Paul!, Hey, so I guess each pack last different from one another but on average if you put two 69% in there how long do you think they would last? And also I've heard of people "recharging" them with distilled water, what so you think?
@Bespokeunit
@Bespokeunit 6 лет назад
Re the question of how long they will last it 100% depends on the environment they are in, if a full airtight container with cigars at the exact RH that the pack is at they will last a VERY long / indefinite time. If however you have in a wooden humidor with an imperfect airtight seal (like 99.99% of wooden humidors) and live in an low RH place of the country like Arizona then they will last a much shorter time. But I would say 6-9 months is a fair timeline in "normal" conditions. As for recharging them, I would not do personally. Cigars are not cheap, and I would not like to run the risk of contaminating the packs, the seal breaking, and the solution that suspends the salt being taken out of sync so the RH being released would not be precise. Boveda is very precise, so I've come to the cost / benefit conclusion that they money vs. lack of stress / effort is worth it for me. Hope that helps - Paul

I bought the smaller one about 18 months ago as a newbie cigar smoker, along with a small cigar sampler, 5 cigars, still got 2 left, been smoking others on the day I buy them mostly. and I like the way it looks, being able to see my cigars, but I don't think I'm getting the best out of it, I'm still getting that ammonia smell from my cigars and not really experiencing individual aromas and taste as I think I should be, everything I've smoked out of my humidor seems a bit 'samey' and just not very interesting, i had a Cohiba siglo II yesterday out of it and was pretty unimpressed, had to relight a couple of times, but I'm wondering if that's the fault of the humidor? I have a couple of 65 RH Boveda packs in with them, and the humidor is in a dark area away from sunlight (basically under a desk surrounded by boxes from things I collect, action figures, cos I'm only 43). Just wondered if you might be able to suggest a solution? I have also noticed that whilst the RH level seems ok, hovers around 65-67 ish, the temperature can be up and down, it's hit over 70 Degrees F a couple of times, specially lately with the decent weather we've been getting (finally!). Anyway, sorry for waffling, hope you can help.

xneverwalkalonex Hi there, Sorry to hear about your struggles! Firstly, can you give me a list of the cigars you've had in there? For instance, Cohiba Siglo IIs are quite well-balanced cigars but they're not overwhelming in flavour. How long has they all been in there? As for temperature, it's important to keep this consistent. Around 70°F should be fine but with only small fluctuations if possible. All the best, CP

Hello, gentleman. I have the acrylic humidor jar from cigars daily. I also bought their hygrometer and I'm using the 60 gram, 69% packet. No cigars are inside yet. It has been more than 24hrs and my hygrometer occasionally drops to 68 or even 67%. The hygrometer is accurate to within 3%. Am I seeing an actual performance issue? What would you do at this point? I want to get some premium cigars but I'm afraid of ruining them. Thanks.
@Bespokeunit
@Bespokeunit 4 года назад
Hi there, I wouldn't worry about 2% difference. As you said, you hygrometer is accurate within 3% so it could be this. When was the last time you calibrated it? I personally find that 66% to 70% is perfectly fine for storing most cigars. Cuban and some Dominican puro cigars even benefit from less (around 64 or 65%). Otherwise, as long as it's within these limits, it should provide a healthy environment for your cigars. Best, CP
