I think it's important to note that if you shoot a Mathews, this is the opposite of what Mathew advises to do with their top hat system. If you have a tear right or left, you start with the top hats, and then micro adjust the rest from there.

i never shoot bare shaft or paper tuning.. walk back field point and broadhead in same spot and that's it..

Good advice Kip. I used to work in a bow shop when I was younger and that's Exactly the same principle that I used. Get everything square and true, in perfect alignment then make micro adjustments till you get perfect arrow flight. One thing that most people don't understand is that if your bow is tuned perfectly your arrows will fly perfect even without fletchings.

My bow tape did not come out as good as yours I work in a bow shop and yes if things are straight they are straight straight bows don’t shoot crooked arrows also how do you like the spectra d loop cord it burns kind of weird but everyone says it’s the way to go

Yeah I bought a LCA EZ-green press 2 years ago and spent a entire winter messing around with tuning/learning serving in the garage. Best purchase I have ever made. I am still shooting my old nitrum 30 and 34!! I still love those bows. Next year may be the time I upgrade. They both have Hamskea rests and spott hogg xl's on them, doubt I will change that combo up. But that new 3 pin center from spot hogg I have been eyeing up.

@@RobKingRC Yeah they are pretty indestructible!!! I have mine mounted on 2x4's now and let people at the indoor and 3d shoots use it off the tailgate! So I get to learn more from those who have been around and help those who are new at same time.

I have a question I shoot my compound bow for target practice only not a hunting bow I hunt with my crossbow. I have a front stabilizer on it should I put on a rear stabilizer to the bow. I am shooting my Mathews mission craze. I would like to hunt with it

Best recommendation is to practice with both and see what you're most comfortable with. Never hunted much with a rear stabilizer, but everybody shoots differently so shoot what works best for you!

When I got my first bow and didn't know anything. Went to my local shop and they were a joke. Bow was outta wack. Kinda like here out the door ya go. So I bought a bow vice and press. I've learned it all myself. Set up two different of my own. Shot a doe with my new evl 32

Never heard anyone else talk about running the arrow down the center of limb bolts. Same exact way I do it. Then it’s all yoke and rest adjustments until bareshaft shoot with fletched.

As im watching this, i realize i dont own a compound bow. I use a traditional osage orange long bow.. Hand made by a good friend.

You're 100 percent right, it is simple, I tune bows to the person I'm tuning it for meaning I have them with me and tune it as they shoot it, we kinda make a day out of it cause as you said, this is how I do it for me. Every bow tunes different and every person is built different. What works for me works different for the next guy. One thing I've noticed is that alot of pro shops are trying to sell you something, you'll laugh at this, I shoot a 4 dollar walmart arrow cause I've never shot anything over over 30 yards and I always have my freezer full. Been shooting Hoyt for 10 years now. Bows shoot great, and they get better each year. Shot Hoyt way back in the day before Red Arrow, then started working with them around 2012 as a partner to the show!
