I'm 70 and notice nearly everyone my age is walking more bow-legged; I noticed it in my own gait as I was approaching a windowed store door. What you say about hip weakness contributing to bowed legs makes sense, because I'm taking a shot at avoiding hip replacement surgery. Thank you for this helpful, visual and concise video.
Oh my... Dr Jo, I’ve followed for a long while (just realized I had unfollowed you somehow) and used your videos so many times over the years but this! This is exactly what I need. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for uploading this video.. I've been having stress for many years because of my bow leg and I found this video and it hurts but works so much and I feel better. I will add this on my everyday exercise routine to fix my leg.. I really appreciate for this video ❤❤❤
@zee_life2005hi honestly i didnt do this exercise everyday but i absolutely can feel its working strengthening on the weak part of the muscles whats causing to having bow legs and by strengthening those weak muscles you can have right posture that can straightening your legs if its not the bine structure problem which cannot be fixed. If you have weak muscles thats breaking down your posture and having bowed legs you can follow this exercise and its very important to do this exercise right with right posture. I also recommend to use rubber band while you do this exercise and make it harder it will target those muscles more where you want to workout and strengthening them. So pls use rubber band to increase the workout level for these exercise for your better result and pls do not loose your posture while you do this. And do them everyday you will feel having them right posture to straightening your legs. Good luck ❤❤❤
@zee_life2005 hi if i had it everyday probably yes but i have done it only few times sorry. But the effect of this exerice im pretty sure it can be very helpful.
Will start today, I hope to see results within some time. I am following other recommended exercises along as well. I felt unconfortable right away with these exercises, so, I'll try to pay attention how those muscles around the knee, calves and quads grow. I think it works my hamstrings as well. Also, I am mixing it with protein intake for faster recovery and grow. Thanks for sharing Dr.
@@noormunther4965 It has improved my posture for sure and the gap is reduced a bit. Biggest advantage has been less knee pain due to running or exercising which is a big help. I am doing other set of exercises as well to increase difficulty, I have more muscle mass around the knees which helps support. I play soccer regularly so I have been able to notice the difference pretty quickly, but posture is what is all about at the end of the day
Thank you so much Dr ! I had a question regarding the results , would my height increase a little if I straighten my bowed legs ( I have roughly 3 inches gap between my knees )
Thank you for posting this video. I started running a few months ago and as I increase my mileage the pain in my hips and quads is increasing (I'm already doing the exercises in your hip video). I'm going to try these stretches to see if they help (I'm 44 and have had bowed legs as long as I can remember).
@@coin827 They have stayed the same most of my adult life. My right knee has turned out a little bit more. It got worse after I started running a few months ago. I wasnt stretching or strength training enough.
@@coin827 Some conditions get worse. As it gets worse, the pain increases. As the pain increases, one's mobility gets reduced. One is wise to address this early in life. Experience speaking.
Hello Doctor Jo, I didn't have bow legs in the beginning but due to inactivity in the last two years I developed them. Will these exercises help me get rid of them?
It's different for everyone depending on what your diagnosis is, how long you've had it, and how your body reacts. The information in this video may help: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Uo2Bz7F339I.html
Thank you for the video, this is very helpful! A quick question - if I have issues only with one of my legs (knee and ankle varus), should I exercise only that side or both?
Same bruh I'm 20 and when I go out people stare at my legs I ask my friends if my legs look alright they say "it's fine you're overthinking it" but man they don't know how I feel when people look down there. The lil bit of courage that I gather also use to go. Its becoming a big problem
I don't have a deformed bones. I had a desk job for many years. After retirement I had meds that caused muscle cramps stiffness. I believe thats we're it started. Stiffness was endless. Like I couldn't do enough stretching. Now I'm taking less meds an finding much relief from stiffness and can walk better. But need to strengthen those leg knee muscles to bring them knees back together. How about using a ball between the knees. Thanks
Thanks for subscribing. Not necessarily, but usually if it's something you've always had or degeneration in the knee, those would be bone issues. They still might be worth trying though.
Thanks Doctor... can you please help me with my doubt. I have bow legs and posterior pelvic tilt also. While trying to treat both, few stretching/mobility excercises contradict, like hamstring (to stretch or strengthen?), or hip (internal rotation or external?)... Kindly guide

Last year ,I suffered from a knee problem while playing soccer and could'nt walk for 2 weeks.Later I was able to walk and run normally with no pain. But after few months it occured again and again (Three time ina span of 6 months).I consulted 2 doctors ,one of them told me that i had to undergo surgery because one of my ligaments have lost its strength and elasticity, while the other doctor adviced me to do vmo exercises and avoid surgery .He told me that as I was only 20 years old i can cure it by doing VMO exercises. Currently I am in a dilemma and i Don't know whom i should believe.Could you please tell me whether it can be cured by VMO exercises. It would be a great help.
I’m 30 years old and I have bow legs. How long will these exercise show its effect with I do it everyday? What happen if I stop the exercises after my bow legs cured? Will I go back to bow leg shape?
Dr plz tell me if it will work on me? I m 60 yrs. I hv arthritis in my right knee. My leg is little bow due to this. What's your experience on arthritis patients?
Thanks, and you're welcome! It depends on what stage of recovery you are in and how your body reacts to treatment, but in general, therapeutic exercises can be done 1-3 times a day, every day.

Hey Doctor Jo, when I’m doing the second exercise it feels like there’s two things flicking each other on the inside of my knee. Only when I raise my leg past a certain point tho
I tend to not feel any moves until about 20 reps ..is this normal? I've been told by honestly a terrible physio therapist 🙃 that I am extremely mobile.... That inner thigh move is gold ✨️
The figure 4 seated position.. gor years I've been avoiding this as I thought it was bad for my knees, I think the cartilage makes a weird sound and I get cracking.. is this okay and normal?
I have gap between my knees when I stand with ankles together. But my knees are pointing in. So when I bend, they touch each other and it's weird. Please help....

I'm 13 year old girl. I had a problem with bow legs when i was a kid but they straightened on their own [I was doing gymnastics and this also might have helped] and now they suddenly appear again even though i i do much harder streches then in this video. Is it normal and will my legs straighten on their own?
