Hey Brother! Im Midwest based hunter who loves the hard, rewarding hunts. I ’ve been obsessed with Western Hunting since I was a kid listening to my grandpa’s stories about chasing Mule deer and Pronghorn. I’ve been dreaming of moving out there and finally made it happen. After experiencing all that Midwestern hunting has to offer, I landed a job in North East Arizona and am moving in April. I got back into archery a few years ago, knowing It would be crucial to get access to limited western seasons. I’m getting spun up and staying excited by watching your videos. I shot my first Muley Buck last fall (a fork horn) but the stalk through the badlands of Wyoming was the most rewarding and exiting I’ve ever experienced (worth belly crawling through cactus). I can’t wait to connect with a large buck and you videos and determination get me even more pumped!

Listening to you n you brother on episode 608! The two of yous talked a lot about patience, confidence, youth, practice, stealth, distance, experience, timing n knowing when to shot or not to shut. Also, knowledge of your animal and how to call, grunt, scrape or rattle horns in order to bring the particular game you’re hunting!!! I’ve learned early in life thanks to my Dad n my cousin Alvaro two of the best hunters I know “God rest their soles” to do n practice all the above Brian n Bro mentioned!!! One other important thing to not do is let your fear, excitement, your nerves, mind better known as “buck fever” get you!!! Something I learned to do at an early age is after spotting and/or calling a buck in is wait, be patient, take a deep breath and Contol your breathing and look for all these things to line up in your crosshairs, calmly pic your shot placement n squeeze the trigger! Then n only then you can celebrate n thank God!!!

The teeth on those little piggies are impressive! They look so docile...but they are no joke. Great hunt as always. Thank for sharing and thanks for building out a community where folks like myself can connect with other like minded hunters, etc. THAT is the real value of social media...creating positive connections with others...I love the pivot away from the “troll” platforms.

After the last film required such grit and determination this one almost felt like the other side of the coin. Side by side I think they beautifully capture the diversity of experiences that is inherent in the adventure of hunting. Can’t wait for more, as my spirit pines for that same fulfillment that can only be truly found as we challenge ourselves and our expectations in the fickle mistress of the wild. Stay Gritty! Ben

Brian I just want to say thanks to you and all the guys at gritty productions for breaking down your hunts, and your pod casts so a newby can understand. I messed up as a kid and now at 49 get to go hunting for the first time this year, so I have been drinking up all of your youtube content so I am not so much of a burden on my buddy's that said they would take me hunting with them. This is like the Nature show I wish I could have watched as kid with a bow. This is a Peccary watch as it moves around looks for food. The cheetah (Brian) moves through the woods with his leather covered feet suppressing the noise to get with pouncing distance. The kill was quick and the animal didn’t suffer due to the massive cutting diameter of cheetah claws (Brian’s Valkyrie broad head). Enough fun great video as usual! Keep up the good work!

When you picked your pig up I went oh no he grabbed the stink gland area on its back with his left hand! They are a great animal for kids to learn on.

I really enjoyed this film. Your facts about deer estrus and reproductive cycles were spot on. I also enjoyed your knowledge of Az. flora and fauna. You are correct in knowing that Javelina are pack animals, Squadron like. They know each other and will protect all animals in their herd. If you wound one the rest will come to its aid. Many times Javelina have rushed me with jaws chomping like an enraged Grizzly Bear! dirtclod Az.

Super cool little animals from far, but then you get close and those teeth are gnarly! Can you imagine if those suckers grew to the size of bears? Deer and javelina in Arizona is on my bucket list for sure and this series makes me even more excited to do it someday!

Man those stink pigs are all head! That looks so fun. I have to say as my wife and I are sitting here watching this hunt it's awesome to see her picking up on different things in the video like wearing socks over your stalkasins to be quieter. (She's only been hunting for a couple years) Also those look like a mechanical that I would trust to shoot. I like the blade upfront. As always I enjoyed my Sunday night routine of eating dinner and watching Gritty films. 👊👊👊

I think in today's world of so many hunters pushing the limits of range, that you showing by example how important it is to work for the right shot and having respect for whatever quarry you are pursuing is extremely important to remind hunters about, we need more of this. Patience kills the buck, bull and even the peccary as your buddy Brian Barney loves to say. I can truly appreciate that focus in you and Ryan's hunts. Too many people want to push the limits of their weapon systems and take those For Instagram long shots with their bow, rifle or even these new extreme range muzzleloaders. When they truly should push the limits of their hunting and stalking skills. Congratulations on your brute of a javelina and your first one to boot. Thanks for sharing the comparison between the size of skulls from the bears you have taken and the boar javelina that you took. I joined the locals Gritty community last week and I can appreciate a platform with values and I enjoyed the additional content from being a supporter including the Pack Out video from Pailey's first buck. Another great video Brian! Super impressed with that arrow setup and how they performed. Even in such a small critter and a shot slight back, you could tell that thing wasn’t going anywhere. I am curious with the way those blades expand, did you catch lungs or liver? Also wanted to just say I can really respect that slight amount of remorse that you expressed as you watched the other javelina come up and check out the one your shot. The fact that your honest and show that hunters are in fact humans with feelings for these animals is great because it shows the non-hunters that we aren’t just animal killers. Congrats on your first Javelina brother, Stay Gritty!

Great video this week . I got my first javelina in AZ this year . They are so fun to hunt . As long as you play the wind right you can get really close they are practically blind . They get a bad wrap for being stinky but as long as you skin them properly and don’t mess with the scent gland they are awesome to eat .

Love your content. Definitely trying to get better at finding muleys (in Montana), since last year was pretty much a bust for me. Need to figure out how to get farther away from pressure with limited time, and realistically how much meat I can carry out in one trip, and I feel like your content is about as good as it gets for that. And LOVE the mapped hunt breakdowns, showing terrain and movements, with the wind.
