I know EXACTLY what goes into making these as I used to build,sell and buy space framed highbrids,our speciality was a shortened rangerover/disco chassis,spaceframed with series body shells,we also bought and sold some of Bowlers earlier comp safari racers.Our build budget was £3,000, in 1998,most of the money went on donor vehicles.Bowlers current models underneath are all modified production vehicle parts as ours were with aftermarket suspension,brakes etc,
I'm an enduro rider, and I can tell you, the biker isn't even trying. He's just sticking around for the good of the movie clip. Damn, I want that car though!
although I also prefer top gear by far. But those crazy challenges are one of the things I don't like a lot. One of my favorites on the show are their races because you get to see the cars performing in real life situations. And then there are the hosts, which are simply hilarious. and stig, and the powerlaps etc...

I think they should've used the '81 KTM 495. It held the record for fastest production dirt bike on the planet until just a couple of years ago. Not only is the displacement slightly bigger, but it's a two-stroke, which means it gets quite a lot more horsepower from each cc. Believe me, there would be no "reeling in" a 495 on the straights. The rider would just get on the power, try in vain to keep the front wheel on the ground, and disappear.
@lane11105 fifth gear was around before the new style top gear... and they've been running pretty much side by side since top gear re-started. two of the fifth gear presenters are old top gear presenters as well. so it's not a rip-off of top gear. it's more of a brother or sister.
Alot of people like to flap their gums around here but i do agree that the show blows, and so does the driver! SSSSSSSSSSSICK truck though !! And by the way 5Th gear get your story straight thats a Supercharged Jag engine and it produces 423 BHP not 500 as you claim!!!
just as interesting as a veyron vs eurfighter typhoon or a car against a man on skates with a jet on his back or an ice skater vs a jaguar xk8 on ice yeh i do prefer top gear by alot and i like the entertainment but fifth gear do say all the consumer advice information
thats jason plato in the bowler course he's not v fast round there he's a british touring car champ not a paris dakkar off roader an as for pugzi's comment plato even says he thought sagar was "playing with him"
I think you forgot to consider research and development and labour costs!! This is not your average suped up car with bits and pieces from a halford's shelf stuck onto it. Its a properly designed and engineered off roader with a full spaceframe chassis. Try building one yourself and see how much time, effort, research and development it takes to get it all right.
It’s an enduro they have more hp but they are not nearly as fast as an sx-f motocross bike, acceleration is not the same at allll, and the roost that was coming from bowler probably left that guy some painful welts lmao 😂 . Enduros are like 62hp and sxfs are like 55 57 stock
I have this exact bike, 45-46 hp when properly jetted, the sx has around 50 (likely at the crank), they arent slow, what they lack in hp they make up for in torque. The new sx bikes are JUST making the amount of torque these bikes were making 10 years ago. My 450 exc does 0-60 in under 5 seconds as well, not bad
The guy on the KTM let off after the pass before the mud puddle. If he ever went down in front of the fop driving the car he'd be killed!! .....can blame him at all.
