Special people are born to excel at what they do. It’s astounding how well they do! It’s not just bowling either.

Holy crap. Look at those shots. The way the ball curves and knocks the pins. I would agree bowling is fun to watch.

I ❤ Bowling 🎳!! Great Documentary! Grew up three doors down from a bowling alley & spent most of my life bowling on leagues. Sinclair Bowling Alley,Denver Colorado…. My brother was ambidextrous and my dad could throw a mean right hand curve! Celebrity sports Center has a lot of memories for me. They were both champion bowlers. Bowling reminds me of happier, simpler times.

@daveyork0 I'll tell you one thing no one can deny, Earl Anthony had the smoothest, most consistent, and effortless delivery of anyone I've ever seen on the PBA Tour. Bar none!

Loved the one with Andy Varipapa if that's how you spell it. That was also some interesting facts about bowling.

I've actually bowled at this museum. I also met the man who donated the lanes and the pin boy machines to the museum.

Canada's version of bowling was five-pin bowling, with five pins (obviously), and rubber bands around the pins to protect them. The ball was about the size of a duckpin ball.

All the buzz in the pro circles back then was what could be worth throwing the title, just to please Pete's father? Everyone knew it even then, but didn't make any noise to avoid the wrath of Dick Weber. Not until a few years later did the word get out that Dick had assured Mr. Ballard of historical note and Hall of Fame immortality as well as back-fill the difference monetarily.

Since Pete proved himself to be a brat. Now I question his father's authenticity.

Earl Anthony and Dick Weber , Andy V was a great trick shot artist,, But Earl anthony and Dick Weber , Were the Richard petty or dale E to nascar, the Jordan to Basketball, the Gretzky or Gordy Howe to Hockey , or the Mickey Mantle or Ted williams to baseball just sayin

Actually, three balls in Ducks and Candles simply gives you 10 points, no bonuses. Strikes and spares are the same as 10-pin. Also, Candles are also played in the Eastern Maritimes, as well as Germany and California.

I didn't even know some of those shots were physically possible (citing the Varipapa montage)

PeeWee? Ugh, don't get me started! Earl Anthony at least behaved himself with self-control and in a dignified manner on the lanes... always fun to watch.

Although the game was originally used as a gambling draw, Eddie Elias and a few other entities pulled it out of the dregs allowing families to feel comfortable participating. The fraudulent practices didn't actually invade the game as it was always waiting in the wings for an opportunity to manifest. These guys just rolled out the red carpet and right now fraud is in full manifestation at an enormous commercial level.

In order to do that they must make the devils sign a lot by extending their pointers and pinkies while putting their middle fingers, thumbs and ring fingers in the holes of those bowling balls. A lot of bowlers could become Satanists if they did not salute the Devil anymore than they do.

@daveyork0 You'll get plenty of arguments, some downright nasty, on this question. Many consider Earl Anthony to be the owner of that title. However, love him or hate him, Walter Ray Williams, Jr. is always considered the best as well. All in all, it comes down to a dirty debate over Earl or Walter Ray.
