I met Mark Roth in the late 80's when I first worked for Brunswick. He was a very funny guy and always playing practical jokes when off the lanes.

Wow I didn't know the PBA went back that far! look at all the black coats and ties in the front seats the IBM mentality was abound back then! these two commentators are the ultimate in the sport! what a combination! Quality touch they had, i miss them together, pba not the same without them together! thanks for this post mikedamian2, powerful stuff!

I think that was Keith Jackson in the booth with Billy Welu for Johnny Guenther's perfect game.

the other reason its so big,, is back in the 70/80s they used the deeper gutters and caps near the pindecks,, not these lower flatter ones of today where hitting the sideboard is like using a pin Slingshot,,,LOL but in his case he hit it dead on and bounced it off the Kickback,, which is even more impressive :)

These kind of shots leave corner pins in this day and age.

Note the replay in the 1967 Firestone Tournament Of Champions clip was in black-and-white, although the broadcast was in color.

Black and white broadcast got you 100,000 and then color came and it was 10,000. This is why bowling isn't popular.
