I swear this was the day I was here! Last Wednesday, saw the weather forecast and drove down from South Shields with my mate and my dog for the day, it’s the most beautiful place on earth when the suns shining!

Wow mate. Memories are coming back to me. I went few years ago and lake Windermere Has got to be the best lake I ever visited and I’ve been pretty much everywhere and nowhere can beat that lake. Lovely video mate. I need to go back to visit again asap after watching this video. The views are amazing and the small village was a lovely walk. You have to go on the boat cruise it’s amazing. Keep up the good work mate. Big fan of yours👍
Really Love These 👍 On The Road Again Adventures Cheers 🍻 BFG And It Just Reminds Me Of What A Stunningly Beautiful Island 🏝 We All Live On and To Use A BFG phrase We Are Lucky Lucky People 👍Great Video 📹 With A Cracking Pint 🍺 And Cornish Pasty Review Happy Days 🙂
Hi Gareth I like San Miguel although I’d rather have just Miguel lol 😂 glad to your here good lady is getting better bringing back memories of when I used to go with my mam and dad xxx💕👍
Well Gareth what a lovely place Bowness is, and Windemere too. That pint and the Cornish pastie along with the scenery and sunshine put me in the holiday mood too. You are a complete natural on camera delivering your wee tours, very enjoyable pal. See you Friday 👍👋🍻
Great touring blog there mate, wonderful scenery., loveed the drive through the woods and the water views. I was in Lake District 25 years ago. Your pasty looked very nice. I have to give the tour and pasty a 9.
Hi, Gareth. Another great show. Good to get out and about on a sunny day. Amazing scenery looking out to the water. The cornish pastie looked delicious too. Seemed good value for the price. Please keep doing more of the outdoor reviews. Best wishes from Scotland.
Awsome video Gareth, this video has really made we want a holiday....a few beers and good food!! Keep up the great content, nothing better to see someone living life with a smile on their face!!
Thanks Gareth lovely to see round the lakes and the town , Looks great to spend a few days with my good lady , Plenty of pubs I see lol . Can’t wait to come up for a few days . Thanks again Gareth brilliant video, ☝️🍺❤️
You got a cracker of a day there Gareth. It's a lovely place, no wonder it's so popular with the tourists. Love the Wildfowl on the Lake, bit of a safe haven for them, loads of people taking their wee bags of breadcrumbs to feed them. Like you say, the streets will be chock a block in the Summer. Lovely video Gareth, take care and stay safe 😘xxx
Hi Gareth. This takes me back. Such a great place for a visit. Went with my wife a few years ago for a very enjoyable short break and were lucky enough to be able to get a table in a restaurant called Francine's, near where you come in to Windermere. Remember it so well. Had the turbot and I must say it was one of the best meals I have ever had. Don't know if it's still there though. Must go back someday. Love the video and hope you enjoyed yourself. All the best
@@BaldFoodieGuy just slightly. It was done in a sauce with lemon and served on a bed of broad beans and other things I can't remember. If you ever get the chance try it although being one of the most expensive fish on the market means it's only available as a special treat. Hope you manage to try some someday. Cheers
Wow .......................... Nice one Gareth, it was like watching an edition of "All Our Yesterdays" from Granada TV (Again, shaowing my age ..!) .........................!! (My legs felt cold remembering my days in short pants ..!) Good to see that they still have the wooden boats on the lake ..............!! That "pasty" looked really tasty, I bet the onions and turnip, gave you something to remember it by .....................!!! (Pastry looked really good ) Amazing that it came all the way from Cornwall ... No GREGSONS ...???? You probably had to move a bit sharpish not to be dive bombed by the gulls, hope they did not drop a going away prsent for not sharing your scran ....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you ever get the chance to visit Keswick on your travels, visit the "Copper Kettle" Cafe ..............!! It used to be owned by members of my family ...............!! Rum Butter comes to mind, but I can't remember the name of the local toffee that had a special taste ..............!! You bought it in a white oblong box...........??? Any idea what I´m ranting on about ?? Kendal "Mint Cake " was a staple on the long walks doing the "Duke of Ediniburgh" Awards Scheme and camping by the lake ...........!! ! ( iI iked the brown version best ) Another tasty and amusing video Gareth , glad to know that the better half is feeling better ..........!! (buy her some "Rum Butter ") You even had better weather than Alicante and that's worth a drink in celebartion at least ..! CHEERS ............................!!
copper kettle will google it see if its still open. Keswick is a nice place. No gull presents from the gulls fortunately lol. Ive not had rum butter before. Had rum though lol
I grew up in Windermere and plenty of familiar places, thank you. The Stags and Hole were two of my haunts. Vinegar Jones needs to be called the Pheonix. A mate of mine attended the fire when it burned many years ago, but great to see it back. Quick tip, near where you were sitting at the end, lots of swans. They will happily mug you if you don't share your pie with them.
Lovely part of the country. Down south where we are there is scarcely a 5 minute drive between sea and open countryside - we are very lucky here in Sussex. And in fact where we live it is a place where the countryside almost 'kisses' the sea with the Telscombe Tye right opposite our house and the sea around 200 yards down the road - lovely location.
I love the Lakes. I used to go several times a year when I was younger up until I was 25, born and living in Yorkshire. I moved to Cornwall 26 years ago, a place I also love. I settled down with a local girl and we drove up in the early 2000's and stayed in Keswick. She loved it. We went back again with the kids years later and they both loved it too. She agreed with me and said she would only ever live in Cornwall or the Lakes.
When I worked on the by pass in the mid eighties we used to grin saying that's the only Bo'ness we'll ever get lol. The only thing that I couldn't understand was all the bloody chippies shut a nine o'clock 😤.
Looks beautiful down there,, If wee have the good weather sometimes there is no need to go abroad, Your pasty looked delicious, better get them heartburn tablets when you get home, Enjoy your drive back,💜
Could not believe you were in Bowness doing a vlog as i had planned to go Thurs. After watching you eat that pasty i went straight to the shop and got a large one.It was off the charts and kept me full all day. Thanks for recommending.
Hi Gareth, I enjoyed this relaxing video. Although, you seem extremely down recently! Is everything okay? Hope you’re doing alright and you know, blink if ya need help ☺️
Rare sight the lake District sunshine usually drizzle rain and mist. A lovely pasty a shame you got attacked by the birds like a scene from a Alfred Hitchcock film😂
You crack me up Gareth. You look like a proper bruiser but such a gent. More guys need to be like you. To many pansies or angry roid takers then skinny wanna be thugs putting knives into anything that moves. Thanks for your service to our country.
Lovely vlog, a few years since I was up there, had the most expensive meal of my life at The Porthole, about 150 pounds of deliciousness (25 years ago). Please make the next video a bit longer. See you at The Inn on Friday, cheers from snowy Cyprus.
Was in Bowness a few years back, stayed in some posh place at the top of the hill, there for 3 nights, took the boat across to Ambleside and had a great time, weather was pretty nasty though as you expect, never been so wet in my life 😂 would I do it again? defo, but with a smaller budget 🙄 nice review mate 👍 btw Bowness had a real good Pasty shop on one of the corners near the small boats 😜
Wow thanks for the memories. 😍. I lived in Quarry Rigg and worked in Bowness for one holiday season about 10 years ago. Must visit again this summer. 😄
Absolutely beautiful well worth the trip oh I do miss it you don't know what you have on your doorstep until your gone great review as always thank you so much 😊
Ahh, I’ve so missed Bowness during covid / lockdowns…. Been many a time. Would have liked an Easter visit, but prices are too prohibitive…. Decided on Peak District instead. If you travel up-to Ambleside, please go that little bit further to Grasmere…. We’re pining for some Gingerbread!
Love the Lakes and have visited many times from Scotland over the decades, including Bowness and the wonderful Village Inn . Look forward to your next Lakes walk. Just great seeing the wonderful landscape and towns. So wish I was on holiday right now too! Keep up the great videos Gareth.
That pasty reminded me of the time a seagull took half of my pasty in St Ives :) It swooped in from behind and took it, they have it down to a T these seagulls and their a big bird too. 🤣🤣
I love that area SO much thank you Gareth. May I suggest a trip to The Drunken Duck one day. When I went there last time the food was incredible. I can also recommend the food in the pubs in Coniston. Thanks as always for showing the world my idea of heaven. Sadly travelling is difficult for me these days due to ill health, so when you do these days out in the Lakes I can dream that I am back there in my happy place. You really are a gem.

Glad your doing these little trips around the lakes. I've never been and the wife says she would love to go. Keep em coming matey 👍👍
Eh up Gazza hows tha doin. Great video. The scenery is beautiful. I cant believe I never visited lake windermere. Maybe next time I'm in england. My missus says you really suit the spot on cap. And I should let you know. She says if I dont let you know shes gonna make me do the dishes for the rest of my life. Lol.

Amazing beautiful place bowness I got married at the bellsfield hotel but you didn’t show it unfortunately, amazing place I could see McDonald’s hotel tho stayed their night before and personally the hallways reminded me of the film “ the shining “ 😂😂
What a stunning place, never been up to the lakes, something we must do, we dont live far from cornwall so go to the lizard for our hols ect. and have had pasties from the cornish bakery and they are nice but my favorite are philps pasties. Gurt lovely 😊👍
San Miguel is brewed in Northampton at the Carlsberg brewery. Was in the Malt Shovel tavern and a couple of Danes walked in asking for the most local beer so I said "Carlsberg" and pointed at the brewery across the road lol
An old rowing spot in my youth as my School used the area a lot for rowing, canoeing, rock climbing, fell walking and many Geography lessons. In later life I travelled the shore fitting carpets in water side mansions.
Yes l have those kind of memories, l remember visiting Edale, the Blue John mines and later breaking things open with little hammers looking for fossils, around 1972 so l would've been 12 lol
@@nige3801 I missed the day off the list the Teacher said "we will walk along this road and climb through a dustbin into another world", and moments later we entered a pothole via a bottomless dustbin buried in the hedge. Yes anytime after eleven years old the whole of Friday could be spent in the Lakes, high up a mountain or deep underground, with our short pants on and jam sandwiches in our Anorak pocket.
@@spex357 sounds a nice teacher, mine weren't too bad but there was one like the sports teacher in the film Kes ( if you've seen it) a bully Good memories nevertheless!
@@nige3801 Rofl Mr Carr one of our sports teachers fell of a cliff and we all laughed and he was lucky we didn't stone him to death, and I'm sure the other teacher thought that might happen as he was hated to the max, and what better time up in the mountains all alone . I can remember reading Kes at School, and brothers like our Judd would come back to school a year later to beat up the Teachers. Sometimes I missed out on trips out or big school days as a good teacher might say as they plonked a big tray of treacle sponge with a big aluminium jug of custard in front of me, and said "don't leave until you've eaten all that", and it might take a few hours. As for good Teachers, If there was a medal for being caned I reached Platinum in my first year and progressed to rippled arse cheek level in my second year.
Hi Gareth I lovethe Lake District I hope its was only iron bru you was drinking and I really thought you would of had fish chips for your dinner you can't go a beautiful place like that the sun out and not have fish and chips love fran xxxx
stayed in bowness a couple of times, lovely place. me and "my " good lady went across the lake in one of them little boats (pedal boat , if i remember correctly) . we were taking in a bit of water but survived! great place.

The Fizzy Tarte lol, enjoyed this one, l fancied a row on the lake in one of the wooden boats, felt like l was there, loved the feel of the quietness, a quiet pint. Probably I'm getting old ha
