@@haytijr5823 It's very unclear what you're saying with your comments. Do you not like John Wick 3? Do you not like the Equalizer? Do you not like Jack Reacher? Do you hate them all?
Keanu would be the first to tell you that he doesn't do stunts, he does action. Stunts are done by stuntpeople :). Always so humble. Have to respect and love the guy.
I think Hunger Game took them to the next level. Made them a major player for a few years. Their stock also hit an all time high during the The Hunger Game years
True but for Brie Larson to shade her own stunt woman. Is pretty damn low if you ask me. She is no Tom Cruise certainly but I agree with you Jackie Chan really deserves his title. It was a long time coming and we probably can thank Bruce Lee for giving Jackie Chan the extra confidence he needed. All those years ago in 1972. When Chan worked for Lee in Fist Of Fury. The rest as they say is history. 🙏
Grace, you seem to be forgetting that Shazam was lodged in between Cap Marvel and Endgame. I think that was a major player as to why it underperformed. Also, the marketing. Because it is a solid movie worth seeing.
@Black Ninja Yeah...it should have either been earlier in the year or in the summer. Sandwiching it between 2 big Marvel movies (one being THE biggest one) as not very wise.
Good observation. I think Shazam 2 can be one of those movies than can take a leap forward at the box office, now that it is a better known product, and the film makers can make adjustments to an even better second movie.
For a second, I thought that was the place she lived. It would be nice if she could do a video about LA. What she does when she is there? I think I would watch.
Stunts should absolutely 100% be an Oscar category. They have awards for literally everything. Many categories aren't even deserving in my opinion, but something like stunt work? Absolutely. They are part of so many movies and it's a category involving skill and, to an extent, art.
The second one is even better! The world building is amazing, the third one isn’t as good as the second but still has amazing action! Definitely watch the second it’s the best of the series!!!!
thats because john wick is not present in most of the theaters in india . only ENDGAME is going good but i see no theaters in my region playing john wick. this is dissapointing as there is a huge fanbase of john wick in india.
Endgame only needs 173 million to catch Avatar which and an average of about 30 million a weekend. Some forget its only been in theaters for 4 weeks and has a lot of weeks to go before its box office run is over so I think its gonna do it finishing around 2.8 billion
Grace, not sure if you’re going to do a reaction to the trailer; might be a little late, but hopefully, you’ll do a review for Ali Wong and Randall Park’s upcoming Netflix new movie ”Always Be My Maybe”... It looks so good! PS: enjoy the last episode of Game of Thrones tonight; hoping it won't be too much ”ugh” and ”sigh” alongside the shock and awe.
Mark Dacascos was already in season 3 of AOS and was quite prominent too, might be a bit of continuity issue to have him come back in a marvel film with AOS still going.
Hi Grace! Greetings from Qatar. I really like your analysis and I DO hope that endgame will dethrone Avatar from its top spot because I really don’t think it should be there! If it’s Titanic on top, I wouldn’t mind, but since it’s Avatar, I really hope that Avengers take this honor as it is totally deserving!! Finger crossed! 🤞🏼
The reason why Avatar was in theaters for 34 weeks was because it wasn't a front loaded movie, it kept increasing the weeks that followed and when it started dropping, it was a small drop unlike the normal 50-60 percent...When they say a movie has "legs" , Avatar is the biggest example of that....With the amount of movies coming up, theaters aren't gonna waste screens for Endgame if it isn't still pulling in big enough numbers to keep It there...It may pass it, but it's not a guarantee....Besides, blu ray are released alot earlier after a movie is shown in theaters compared to 2009, so that is another factor
Despite Aladdan releasing, do you think Endgame can get a bump next weekend due to Memorial Day? If it can stay consistent for the next few weeks hopefully it can get the 170 million needed to pass Avatar. Also, Infinity War was kept in theaters for 140 days and Endgame has only been in for 24. Can it earn the amount needed in 116 days?
Grace, I'm really curious to know your opinion on if Warner Bros./Legendary will continue making Pokemon movies despite the low box office results. The movie costed $150 million to make and it doesn't look like it will double that amount. Do you think they'll just forget about the franchise because Detective Pikachu under-performed? Or do you think they'll rely on Blu-ray and digital sales to make them more money and continue making movies anyway?
What got liongate into the big screen market was the trimark buyout, then they were able to buy aristan, and become even bigger and getting a lot of studio canal titles and newer films to be able to buyout summit.
Endgame WILL NEVER TOP AVATAR adjusted for inflation. Also remember that Avatar opened in a lot less theaters and it was in its own, Endgame is technically a season finale.
It's not like avatar invited all this people to watch because the story was any good. people just went for the experience of the tecnology. While in endgame as the MCU people go to theaters to every god damn movie so they can keep up with the stories told in this universe.
I don’t often repeat watch movies.. but JOHN WICK 3 demands it. I’m going to the cinema again to watch it. It’s spectacular. Knocks the competition into the dust.
You would think there would be an achievement in stunt performance category by now. Also there should be a category for performance capture. Stunt performers do so much to help create movie magic they need to be recognized
Note to the producers of Bond, stay relevant by making the movies every 2-3 years so fans can get hyped while still remembering the last one. The Equalizer, Mission Impossible, John Wick all do this. I enjoyed JW3, cause I still remember enjoying the last one and jumping straight into the latest installment.
HMX Falcon It’s not going to be that easy, the movie made just over 100mil this past week. Movies drop by about half every week, so expect 50 or so mil and then it’ll just come down from there. Like she said, it’ll be close.
Look at the local theaters, and see how the screens are disappearing for 'Endgame': Godzilla, Aladdin, et al. These are the things that can eat into a tentpole movie's box office, and suddenly that 160 million isn't that easy. 'Endgame's biggest push initially came from overseas and that's slowed down significantly. Also, Avatar is actually 2.78 billion--so Endgame has to match and make it to at LEAST 2.8 billion for it to successfully displace 'Avatar'. So don't think 166 million--think 200 million.
@@ojogbaneamedu2501 it's already been easy, Endgame has gotten to 2 billion 36 days sooner than Avatar did. Yes true, average movies do drop by half every other week but this NOT an average film, period.
HMX Falcon Dude relax, this isn’t a fight. Just letting you know not to count your chickens before they hatch. Infinity War, TFA and Endgame all beat Avatar to 2bil much faster. But nothing has beat it yet, movies collapse much quicker these days than they used too. It’ll be close.
@@ojogbaneamedu2501 I am relaxed.. and why would you call this a fight? (chill out) It won't be close, Endgame will pass Avatar, the real question is, how close will it get to 3 bil.
@@haytijr5823 LoL but she is much better now her and Deadpool have been doing some intense secret training together on an island off the grid so she is no bush over😅
@ Most of her scenes in Endgame are action scenes and believe or not that are actors who do not even shoot it's own simples stunts scenes such as flying or fighting
Sure, Endgame was front loaded but I think its crazy to think that it WONT pass Avatar, its only been out for a month and will likely be playing in theatres for the rest of the summer in theatres around the world, even if only sporadically.
What will help Endgame get more return viewers in the coming weeks is the release of Captain Marvel on Blu-Ray and Spider-Msn Far from home in Cinemas in July.
170 mil left for Endgame to surpass Avatar. I know this will happen. 170 mil for movie this big wont be a problem especially when new Spiderman movie is out in 1.5 months.
There's a movie Lionsgate have coming...at some point...which I'm hoping winds up more akin to John Wick than Robin Hood. Although right now the guy whose novel they're adapting is giving me more confidence in the film than Lionsgate are :-/
This is great news for John Wick. So happy for them. Wanted to see it this weekend but have been catching up with earlier released films. Make me want to watch it more now.
Mark Dacascos is already part of Marvel, he was an Inhuman on season 3 of Agents of SHIELD. Although I know MCU is not really looking into the Marvel TV Shows, they have respected the characters they use in TV, they used the same Actor to play Jarvis in Endgame as they did on Agent Carter´s Show.
Eric J Fanboy? Where and how? And even if Endgame beats Avatar, the latter came out 10 years ago... so in today dollars Avatar is still the winner (3,5 billions in 2019 dollars)
@@HeliosThor64 Yes it does. By inflation, Avatar is in 3 billion, along with Titanic. That means much more tickets were sold with those two movies since ticket costs were much lower back then.
Grace missed an amazing pun reference: "Lionsgate was eager to get into the amusement park business with the Hunger Games, but that never PANEM-ed out"
So, Grace, is it your position that we’re finally seeing the emergence of the “character actress?” There used to be actresses like Una O’Connor or Billie Burke who would essentially play the same character type in a hundred different supporting roles, but I don’t think we ever truly had the female version of “character actors” before now.
@@itscarnage2924 life is about new experiences, he should have picked something at random and went with that. If I never did that I would have not watched into the spider verse.
@@killler240 but maybe he don't like what's out right now beside that or maybe he just wanted to watch it 1 more time for all you know money probably not a problem for him so he probably watch j.w tomorrow lol
