Up and beyond the very best true country voices. After only hearing his train songs I was more than surprised when I heard for the first time ''Winds Of Yesterday'' and even more when I heard '' My Youth Of Yesterday'' profound 'life reverence' lyrics sung with much feeling from his beautiful meaningful vocal tones.
boxcar's songwriting ability is greatly underappreciated. His own material should have gotten more appreciation. I still am looking for the song ''How's That For Leavin'?'' from his Tear Jerkin', Heart Breakin', Hillbilly Songs album, the album can be found online but none have that song listed on them.
@@BoxcarWillieFanChannel yea the only recording of that song I have found was on the boxcar willie show. Which I have uploaded to my channel. Goof song for sure it really sucks when such good songs get lost
@@pigpen1978 Looking for ''My Youth Of Yesterday'' on your channel can't find it I have it on two of my own made cd's so I can hear it, but would like to add it to my playlist so it is on my computer. Can't understand why such a beautiful song from Boxcar Willie and so relative to ''The Winds Of Yesterday'' which is so well known has not been uploaded more often.
@@barbaraharris7004 I was referring to "How's that for leavin" that's the song I have uploaded a clip of. I have never heard of the song you're referring too. Sorry for the misunderstanding
I have @@pigpen1978 written up the lyrics for ''My Youth Of Yesterday'' on BoxCar Willie fan channel written as I played the cd with this track on it, can't find the lyrics or the song anywhere. it is my favourite and with such meaningful lyrics.
I have ''My Youth Of Yesterday'' on two of my own made cd's this computer does not play cd's it seems this song is not on RU-vid and no lyrics come up on Bing for that song so here is the lyrics of my favourite BoxCar Willie song . ''Once I had a treasure which none can compare . I was ten times richer than the richest millionaire . Like a ? my fortune ebbed away, The treasure that I had was my youth of yesterday. What a treasure , my youth of yesterday. What a treasure my youth of yesterday. The treasure that we're born with will never return . We squander it away like leaves that we burn. If we only had the wisdom to make the treasure stay. The greatest treasure in the world ,the youth of yesterday. What a treasure , our youth of yesterday. What a treasure our youth of yesterday.''
