A Pennsylvania Novice Division Amateur boxer (under 10 fights) sparring a local professional from Allentown Pa at pedone's heavy hitters. He took it easy at first, but he had to pick it up once I started connecting with some powerful shots. Jordan Demko

People have to understand that the grey shirt guy isn't there to crush him. He's just there to help the amateur practice. We have pros at my gym that spar with us. They could easily unload, but it wouldn't prove anything, since they're PRO! They give us tricks and tips, but trust me they don't even break a sweat.

Both bad fighters if you want to even call them that other than children. Both too scared to engage and end the fight quik. Just coward and weak fighters as usual :). Na nothing to do with pro. Fighting is mostly speed, brute force and fearlessness. This is why no matter the amount of training you have if the other person is fast, strong and not afraid to get in your face and break your body and bones then good luck. Some of us will literally eat you :). I claim world's best boxer and would challenge anyone if they want but won't end well for you. My punches may kill you so if it's a risk for some good money I would fight any pro :).

That's how you train. You let each other work. You practice moving around their shots. Instead of having a one upmanship battle. You can't get better when the other dude just smothers you with barrages or if you don't let your sparring partner work

I don't think the "pro" had a choice he was getting atted up and the grey shirt definitely was exhaustingly tired from all of the blows he was being delivered to easily.

Dude in grey is the pro. Notice the difference in technique, combinations (watch the jab as well) and how comfortable the guy in the grey shirt is at any distance, ESPECIALLY how calmly he maneuvers out of the way of punches at very close range. He slowly applies pressure and uses different angles and combinations. I give the man in the grey shirt kudos, he let the other guy get punches and combos in while showing him what to look out for and the counters that he can be prone to. Great video.

Sounds stupid my friend... Professional gyma, pro or amateur wear guard to protect their investment.. U r the investment... Damage to the brain happens over time, you may not feel pain at the time, but gradually it has an effect.. So wear guard.. Mma don't as shots are more evenly spread through the body... Boxers throw more headshots and usually have more power.... Respect...

Wow you're really good. I had my first sparring session this week, and my main problem is I don't use my back hand as much because I'm too anxious about closing in. I occasionally threw in a left cross (I'm southpaw) and just jabbed with my right hand. And the person I was facing was more of a pressure fighter so he kept chasing me around the ring, and sometimes I'd just curl up until I remember to move out or pivot. Do you have any tips that might benefit me? Thanks, and nice video :)

@xlilnetx Nah man, I've sparred at a few gyms and it doesn't always get serious. It depends on each person's personality... some guys go nuts (especially when sparring at a gym that's not your own) and it turns into a fight, others are more sensible and it stays as a technique workout. The guys in this video are definitely keeping it nice and relaxed and not trying to take each others' head off. And yeah, 5 jab doesn't do much but it at least gives the red guy a chance to think.

Might want to think about uppercut-hook-straight combo, plus uppercuts and straights when he covers up. And please, learn to cover your liver. Key to this, IMO, is keeping your chin tucked in, which makes it a lot easier to cover your liver and your chin with your right, plus it makes bobbing, weaving and slipping more effective, makes you more elusive. Weave with your legs (not like the pro) so that you'll have power in your counterpunches coming out of it. You got some good hits in.
