It's Crown Vic Swap Kit Boxing Day at JMR Rebuilders. This week we box in our frame to Team321 adapter kit for our Crown Vic and Coyote Swap F150. Just one note... we've not really welded much or fabricated frame parts....ever. Check out our terrible welds and the end results. Sometimes you just have to try new things.

Knowing Ryan as long as I have I know that you never know which Ryan you will get for the day or any time of day (I.e. British Ryan, elf Ryan, hillbilly Ryan, grumpy Ryan, funny Ryan). I love how with the videos you get all of the above in 20 minutes or less.

I would definitely mount it on an angle. That way if you need a replacement it's a nut and bolt swap without having to split and rotate the bushing.

Happy Holidays! Looks pretty good for the DIY welding job! We had 6+ inches of snow here in Knoxville for Christmas so its been hard to get out and do much work on any cars!

I enjoy y’all’s videos so much. I do have plans to swap out my truck as well. I just think that box-in job I just watched is scary. I plan on TIG welding mine so I have no need to grind down the weld, and putting a slight bevel or giving myself an open root for better penetration. MIG welding downhill on anything unprepped/improperly prepped that will see any kind of load is just something that I think is bound to crack and fail. Anyway, thank y’all so much for the video, I really enjoyed it.

Go on Facebook to crown Vic f150 swap you will find everything you're looking for as in information and probably places to get the correct brackets or whatever you need that you can't find

Thanks Harly we use that Facebook group alot. Dennis at Farmtruck Racing recommended getting the outcast brackets for the trailing arms and we agree would have been much easier. We had already got the ones from Team321 in our kit so decided to use them.

Which ones you talking about. If you mean the ones we used to bolt the cradle to the frame. I am not sure what grade they are. They are what ford uses from factory on all their crown vics. Appreciate the support.

@@rgbigdog the bolts came from rock auto with the trailing bracket. The nuts came from the hardware store.

No clue brother. We used the team321 kit and it lined up the holes for us to drill. Sorry not much of a help.

I'm thinking that you would have to attached them trailing arms in a similar fashion as the F100, look at the F100 build on 330 Garage channel the bracket he used to attached them trailing arms may work for you or modifying yours to look like his. Look at his video at the 21 minute mark... (2) F100 Crown Vic Front End Swap - Step by Step - RU-vid 330 Garage.

The issue I believe with what he did is he had to modify the bushing. If I remeber correctly he cuts it and rotates the bushing. We don't intend on keeping the truck and don't want the next owner to have to have custom made bushings. Love his channel though.

@@JMRRebuilders Look at how the mounting bracket is attached to the frame it's more horizontal to the ground and the trailing arm.

@@rgbigdog yes correct because he rotated the bushing. If you don't rotate the bushing you have to rotate the mounting surface.

@@JMRRebuilders Yes the busing has to be rotated you can do that one of two ways cut rotate and re-weld or have them pressed out and pressed back in at the proper angle.

Yes that is a way the thing we wanted to avoid is that. The current way you can buy any trailing arm any where and bolt it right up.

Was it flux core wire and if so what were your settings?

Thanks for the question! I believe the wire was NOT flux core. You can find a link to what we used in the description. As for the setting, I believe we were at 20.5 volts and about 325 for wire speed, but we are not pro welders! Thanks for watching!
