Boxster S modifications: Cat Bypass 

I just put the same bypass pipes on my 2001 2.7l 986 and I love the sound difference! I've got them to the stock muffler for now. Definitely recommend doing this for anyone with the 2.7l. Quick tip, I did not have to remove anything but the bumper too access them. Even that I really didn't need too but I was searching for a rattle and had the time. The whole job was maybe 3hrs with a friend mainly spent battling rusty stock hardware. Once you loosen the bolts on the cats (spray them with penetrating fluid and use a breaker bar) you can wiggle the cat out easily.

Another great how-to but would have liked to have heard your impression of the results.

Just had these installed and they sit right on top of my sway bar and it makes my car vibrate.

This may be a long shot but I see that you swapped the cat bypass pipes with high flow cats. Do you happen to still have the cat bypass pipes? If so, I'd love to buy them from you.

Great how-to! Has your PCM thrown a check engine light on catalytic converter inefficiency? I believe the code is P0420.
