We often find evergreen plants damaged in the spring, long after the damage was done by winter weather. Wait to prune out the dead leaves until you are sure the branches are dead too. Sometimes only the leaves are dead and new growth in the spring will quickly cover dead leaves that will soon fall off. After new growth starts on the plant, you will be able to tell which branches were also damaged and then you can prune them off. Next winter, use an anti-desiccant spray or protect the plants with a windbreak.
