Boy Kills World - Movie Review 

If anyone didn't notice, the girl that loved the culling ended up in the culling.

This just looks like a live action adaptation of an anime if the anime never existed.

I think Bill Skarsgard would have made a good Feyd Raytha in Dune but Austin Butler did a great job.

The fight choreography/action design was done by Dawid Szatarski (as it says in the credits), he's a Polish/German fight choreographer who initially played Boy's character in the proof of concept trailer he made with the director to get the funding for this (available on RU-vid to see actually). He also plays the henchman, Dawe, that refuses to die in the first warehouse fight, the one that ripped his own arm off. The end fight sequence as well as that fight were said to be even longer by him, but he was thankful for what still made the cut, which as a lifelong fan of martial arts action movies I can tell you is high praise, cause usually all the pre-vized action the fight choreographers make in pre-production get chopped or discarded by a SIGNIFICANT margin in post.

Reminds me more of hardvore henry. Its all about the action scenes but then they hit on the head in the 3rd and final act where the plot really comes together. Also the shaman is an amazing martial artist and i loved that they hire him for this role. He was amazing in the raid redemption

I went into this movie not knowing a single thing. What a fun ride! Really good combat cinematography. A good blend of silly and brutal.

The third act was amazing. It reminded me of the raid. It was so brutal and violent. Wow! The second act has this amazing fight scene with a cheese grater. So awesome and VIOLENT. It's very well done. I agree with Joe. It will be a cult classic.

The third act of the film is the most flagrant rehashing of The Raid we’ve seen yet lol.

Just saw this film this afternoon. I had a blast watching this. Funnily enough, John Wick wasn’t the first thing that came to mind. No, Hardcore Henry & Crank came immediately to mind, because like those flicks, BKW has hyper kinetic gory action, ridiculous OTT characters, a stylized pulpy aesthetic that follows video game sensibilities and it doesn’t ever take itself that seriously because it knows exactly what it is.

With the screenplay written by the guy who wrote the stories for Alan wake, control, and quantum break, all I need to tell y’all is it’s a movie for gamers. Enjoy the ride it’s a total blast!

Imagine if Bill Skargard gets cast as The Punisher he'll have 3 revenge movies back to back

They should have named this movie "IT 3: Revenge of Pennywise". On the other hand It's a bit ironic seeing him in a fighting role considering in John Wick he was all talk. They could have made a good fight with the Marquis.

this is up their with scott pilgrim for being my favourites film that serve no purpose other than to be a film and entertain you, absolutely loved it from start to finish

The sister character was so annoying throughout the whole movie. Just when you’re getting into it BAM, imaginary sister pops in to check you out of the film. Everything else I enjoyed quite a bit.

Joe, take Other Joe’s 25 lb dumbell or Alex’s and curl it 10 times on each arm every day for a start… you can do it.

This movie reminds me of My Friend Pedro video game, especially the action/fight style, helmet and the final plot twist

Good for you Joe, I agree its an 8. Yea story isn't as strong as a John Wick or Kill Bill, but wasn't terrible. But the fighting, violence and gore is great.

I don't know about the rest of you, but finding out that AJ was a theater kid made my day. This trio is so unique.

I liked the movie, but i hate when the "bad guys" are shooting down a hallway at the "good guys" with NO COVER and still miss every fucking shot.

I think the other Skarsgard brother played a deaf & mute character in a Netflix sci-fi show too. With current showing options I'd go: 'Abigail', 'The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare', then 'Monkey Man' &/or 'Boy Kills World'.

I really enjoyed this today. Pleased to see you guys seemed to like it. Most reviewers I've otherwise seen seem to be making a strong effort to pan this one. I liked a lot of this movie, aside from just a few things!

A plot hole I noticed. Nobody not the citizens or the soldiers noticed the missing prince walking around town.

I find it very funny that the plot manages to be both over complicated and under developed

I'd give it a 9, had a blast watching it! I knew what I was walking into with action scenes and martial arts, plot's simple yes but that's fine in it's own right too. A to B to C (beginning, middle and end) with a riot in the cast. Totally worth owning to have a fun time to watch.

Sequel would be called Boy & Girl kills world

Wait, this movie came and went already? I only ever saw like two commercials for it, neither of which included a release date. Regarding Skaarsgard being buff for filming this movie and then the Crow, its probably the other way around. The Crow was filmed over two years ago. So he would've gotten in shape for the Crow and then filmed this movie.

Just saw it. It reminds me of Scott Pilgrim and Dredd. Awesome production but will bomb at the box office sadly and will become a classic later

I loved this movie. I watched it last night at my local drive in theatre. It felt like a kill bill/ john wick movie. Very entertaining. Great camera movement and fighting. Super unrealistic and over the top😂.

This movie had a great final fight (a complete copy of The Raid, but whatever) and a couple of other good scenes, but the humor didn't really work for me. It tried way too hard to be funny at all times and most of it didn't hit. But I also really didn't like the narration. It was different at least, but it made Boy as a character a lot less cool and it sounds so stupid that the serious scenes really doesn't work.

You waste your time playing Tabletop games for 0.006% of your audience. Why is it so important that a movie has to be "worth your time" to review?

I enjoyed all the comedy. It is smart comedy. Nothing was cringe. The cringe was from people that don't get it. It was a bit of everything and I will watch it every year from now on at least twice.

Just came back from the theatre tonight, 23:00 British time. This movie is awesome, if you feel you've been deprived of balls-to-the-wall unapologetic holly shit-fuck no snowflakes aloud action movies. Watch it in theatres then go buy the dvd.😊

Man, does the bar even exist anymore? This movie was awful. That "twist" at the end completely undermines the protagonist's entire motivation for his revenge. Awful. Completely awful. People will like anything these days if it's got pews pews and boom booms. 🙄

I really enjoyed the movie *****Spoilers****** I didn’t see the twist that he was part of the family coming at all and that the shaman was a bad guy. It gave off serious Jade Empire story vibes.

Some of it was dumb, but i had a really good time with this one, it was tons of fun, It had good humor, the action is almost nonstop, with some pauses to keep the story going, but it is all so interesting because of the unique world they built up around it, Bill skarsguard did a awesome job, now I'm more hyped for the crow reboot, They also showed a few good looking upcoming movies trailers, like a movie called-kill, that looks like the raid- on a train, an then one called cuckoo, that looks nuts. Lol
