My Cub Scout can hardly wait for his first knife. My favorite way back in the day was the Imperial fixed blade. It dressed out a ton of game. Even my Cadet Girl Scout has a swiss knife, lots of uses for it in camp.
Great idea for a vid. Hobo knives aren't toys, they are really valuable. K-Bar makes a decent one for under $20 on Amazon. A bit heavy, but great in the glove box... !
The Victorinox you have is really rare to find. It's the BSA Huntsman. Exact same tools as the feildmaster minus the parcel hook and the key ring in a different spot. I have it in black.
I have a knife that looks almost exactly like the hand me down knife you have. It needs some restoration. I think it was my great grandpas... Anyway, How would you go about restoring a knife like that? Might be a good video topic if you haven't already made one.
@gamingguru97 cleaned up the towns recycling center, and ran a few drives to make people aware that it existed (this was a long time ago when recycling wasn't such a common / required thing) have fun mking eagle, its worth all the effort / work
I got a pocket knife and I'm ten and i didn't earn it my dad gave it to me and taught me how to use it and it has a blade, sawl, scissors, screw driver, two wrenches, and two mini blades
I own the one with the orange thing hanging off it except mine had a toothpick and a pair of tiny pincher things and it had a lot of things on it about 3 different types of blades I think it had a lock pick on it oh wait it does I used it to lock pick my sisters room while she was gone I also lock picked my way into abandoned buildings like a old abandoned maintenance building in a park which was abandoned 17 years ago leaving the play sets to rust and also all the toys in the building had no power and all the emergency batteries were dead but their was a employees lounge in the building too had a bunch of alcoholic drinks and other things like expired foods and expired frozen treats I checked the wrapper and checked the snack it was still frozen in a broken freezer the freezer only lasted with the cold inside the freezer I gave my friend one he got sick for a week and a half I turned the place into my hideout my friends and I eat subway in the building we also do some fun things in their not gay things just fun things mostly watching RU-vid by screen mirroring to the Apple TV I installed into the wall on a wall mount and my troop leader was gay we hid from him in the building he never checked cause the lock looked locked from the outside and the only lights inside were the lights on the ceiling which were turned off. Lol longest sentence I ever made and saw did not realize how much I typed.
looks like you were around when boy scout knifes didn't suck, the recent knifes I've seen are designed to be cheap give-aways as rewards for popcorn sales
I'm an adult leader (all the way up to Woodbadge). I carry a Kershaw folder but also my original logo'd folder that was presented with my Totin' Chit. Depending on the audience is the one I use. If I'm doing normal stuff I'll use the Kershaw folder but if I'm demonstrating for Cubs I'll use the original I got. The worst part is trying to carry a folder in those microfiber poly switchback pants. They're terrible. I'm thinking of replacing the mesh pockets with something that actually doesn't drop things out. In the meantime, I'm working on a leather pouch to hold both.
