As a retired mail carrier we loved people like you. So many people give no thought to piling the snow up in front of the mailbox. You sir did a great job!
Good morning Mike, I don't know if people realize why it's necessary to plow a 15' x 4' lead at your driveway entrances. I was taught to do that when clearing a driveway or for a mailbox. This keeps the driveway clear when the plow comes by. Is that why you do that too?
As an official member of the Archie Fan Club I can attest that the shirts are Great! The tractor pictures are a fun add to the videos. Thanks Mike and Melissa for hosting them.
This winter has been very easy for a change. We live in South Dakota and every winter we go thru what you are experiencing. Today it will be 50 deg f and no snow cover. The weather people stated it will be like this thru the 18th of the month. I’m not celebrating on this , I have lived here for over 60 years and know Mother Nature will chuckle and say “watch this”. We are not over winter until April 15th then it gets nice. Keep up the good vids and have a day.
Morning Morgans and friends. We're @ 1° this morning. Mike you weren't kidding about having a mess, takes all the fun out of snow removal for sure. We're all ready for spring here too! Please tell the family hello and have a day. Be safe!
What a mess, indeed! In Maine we got over 2 feet of snow in less than a week. Hate to say it, but I think I would take the snow over rain, sleet and freezing rain any day during the winter. You've got the equipment to conquer it though. God bless you and your family.
This really solidifies my feelings on snow. Where we live in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, it has never really snowed. Sure, there may have been a few flakes for five minutes in 1958, but we live in a perfect climate. No slushy, vehicle destroying, productivity -sapping, snow. Keep up the good work. : )
Wow..we don’t have that mess here. Seems like painting, fun for a few minutes then it becomes more of an endless chore. Liked the pics and all those pushing snow in open stations gave me a chill.
Thanks for the memories driving in the snow and ice that is one thing I do not miss. Enjoy your videos. Continued prayers for Eva and Hunter. Have a day.
The pics are great, too all the great family farmers on this planet too thumbs up. Thank you mr. And mrs. Morgan for such good content. And may god bless you and yours. Love brother devo. Tees look pretty cool too.
Ok, safety sally, but you need your lights on on when working near the road. Yesterday my brother had his BX and rear blade helping clear the base of a neightbors drive, and some guy speeding came by and caught the toothbar he had on his bucket. Took out the side of the car all the way down like a canopener. Fortunately no injuries and just bent the tooth on the tractor but inches for much worse. Here in SE Ohio the ice storm has taken out all sorts of trees down, including many power lines. Nothing like no power for a few days to let you know how dependent on it we are. I have lots of cleanup just to get through my atv paths, and won't need any wood for a while to buck up for splitting. Many trees broken, but more came up by the root ball from ground being saturated by rain then cover with ice just pushed them right out like pulling an onion out of a garden, If the onion were 75 ft tall...
Here in the Ozarks on the MO/AR border we got about 6-7" of snow following some rain and sleet. Spent yesterday afternoon blowing snow in driveways and sidewalks. I'm with you Mike, I've had about enough winter too!
In the last week we've had over three feet of snow here in Central Maine. Today it's 10 degrees and my town's snowmobile club is hosting Radar Runs (time trial) on our local river. Hopefully they have a succesful day and everyone stays safe.
Hi Jay, I've always wanted to go on such an adventure myself. Do you know of any place that sells weekend packages where an individual starts a trip, rides all day, stops for lunch, continues on until they come to a place the group stays for the night, gets dinner and then, the next morning, gets breakfast, hits the trail, stops for lunch again, finally arrives back at the starting point? Something even longer would be even better. Let me know sir and have fun on the Radar Run!! Alan
-36 C feels like -44 C ( wind chill ) this morning, up in Timmins, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦, to cold to do anything outside, hasn't snowed in about a week. Enjoying your videos.
Just looking at the rear mount pole and I would make a change, make it about a 2 ft extension to push the snow farther, I would mount another blade facing backwards so I could push back and roll off better. Space them far enough apart so the bottom cutting edge can be changed. We have a Degenstein pusher on the skid steer, the centre blade is about 6 ft and has 2 3 ft wings that can go straight forward to 45 degrees backwards, these are controlled by the hydraulics and make it work like a grader. When both extensions are faced forward it is like a box blade and can really push a lot of snow. Enjoy your videos, have been watching them for years and enjoy the different content. Pleased to see Eva is doing well and miss Hunter. Stay safe my friends.
Watching the tractor pictures and seen that huge fir tree standing there .. it was clicking by too fast and I never went back for it but I am sure from the look of that bark that it was a douglas fir old growth as in when columbus sailed the ocean blue, its standing as a large tree then. A miracle to see many that big. When I was a young boy in washington state in the early fifties and late forties, we had a lot of them. I seen them where the tape measure going across the stump the widest way was over thirty feet. Bularview was just outside Marblemount washington, the state protected this one stump that they held square dances on. It did finally rot away but at its widest angle across was fifty two feet and every saturday night they had dances on it. It was sanded and polished... a memory to never forget. Mike, I like the channel and I too enjoy those tractor pictures but they shouldn't become a job or obligation when your kind enough to even show one of them. Oh... and I am real tired of the snow as we are still getting pounded here in central alaska
Great job plowing again. You were definitely doing that sideway dance at the brick house. All the pictures are very enjoyable. All the different types of tractor's that everyone has. Stay safe.
You name it and we got it!, thank goodness for the down pressure on my bobcat!, 5 hrs scraping ice, sleet, and snow!. Big ice jam on river!. Needing mr sunshine!, lololo!. Morgans good day!
It showed that our low was 30. but we did not have any ice in the, “Is it a winter day indicator?” Which is a clear plastic cup with about one inch of water in it. I have it setting on the boat trailer fender about two feet above the ground. If the water freezes I count that as a day of winter. So far we have only had one day of winter. We have had a couple days of light to heavy rain with flash flood warnings. But no rain in the forecast for the next week, mostly clear with low temps in the upper 30s to low 40s and highs in the mid 50s to upper 60s. My favorite kind of a winter week forecast. Very common for south Louisiana and the gulf coast.
Good morning Mike from Charlottesville VA We had rain Wednesday Thursday and Friday it was in the 50s and 60s Today it's clear but only 40 degrees Stay safe and ya'll have a great weekend God bless
Hello Mike. We had about 6-9 inches in Wichita, Kansas Two nights ago. We are still tying to dig out of the ice that was before the snow came. Glad to see you still "gettin' out there'. Be safe and be good!
Saw my tractor picture today! Really enjoy looking at these and thanks for thinking this idea up! Will miss when they are all done! Maybe do it again in the future??
Mike, as a North Carolinian never did I think you would get this much Winter weather! I know you are looking forward to Spring. All the snow is great for the water table. I enjoy watching you deal with the elements!
I am like you Mike, I have had enough of winter. Rain, ice, sleet and snow and not to mention flooding. The warm days add more slick ice and yet to come is the mud. We have been on that temperature range between the rain and snow. Be safe out there, farmer rod
Growing up as kids in Lancaster Co., PA, my brother and I and our cousins all grew up with out butts planted in the seats of Fergusons and I was happy to see so many in your pictures so far. It's interesting to see all the tractors from your viewers too. What a great variety. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
Wow!!! That is just beautiful views. Probably not what you wanted. But it lets us see another great video of you snow plowing. Love it. Love the music you choose. I know the side kick wasn't as warm as the cab on the tractor was. Look fun like you were having fun in the side kick. Mike you have a great attitude on mean or unnecessary comments. Keep your videos coming.
Cmon spring! I hear ya Mike. We have been getting all the same snow and ice here in RI too. Splitter works great, i have same one on order. Good way to stay productive with firewood on a crappy day. Heat and radio!
Got the same mess !!! Power is still out for a lot of folks . Ours went out Friday at 8PM , came back on Sat , at noon . Everything is covered in ice , could use you here to clean up some damaged trees !!!! Big Hello to Hunter !!!
8" of snow in western Indiana. Plowed 4 driveways yesterday with my NH WM25S. Worked like a champ. It's my first year with it so there's a learning curve, but it beat the devil out of a snow shovel!
Hi Mike, Phil from Texas: as you probably know it has been cold here however thank God we don't have what you have as all the ice and snow and that sort of thing I don't know if us Texas brethren would know how to deal with that, really!☺️Just a thought, if no one has mentioned it, a long sheet of black plastic might work well stretched over your conveyor. The solar heating of that black plastic when the sun comes out will probably work well for you. That stuff heats so well, the ice actually melt in one half the time. Just a thought. Great channel, keep up the good work
Hey Mike. I don't know if you get time to read all of the comments - but - thanks for doing the tractor pics. I sent 2 and they were in the 2nd video you put the pics in. Mine was actually the 2nd pic and at the 2:10 mark. I've done some AV stuff in the past and I know it can be time consuming. So good job by you and your son. Been watching from the beginning and love the channel. Hope you can keep it up. Mike Martin / Mechanicsville, Va
0 when I got up this morning. We had that similar weather system go through here Wednesday and Thursday. Started out rain; briefly freezing rain and sleet then quickly to snow. 13 inches of snow fell with 20-35 mph winds. Roads are drifted shut all over the place. I’m always ready for spring and summer…..starting around November 1st. God bless. Jason from Indiana.
Mike, as a suggestion...when you push the slush off the road/driveway, push it over the downhill side of the roadway. By pushing it into the uphill ditch, you will get ice dams in the ditch and the next heavy rain or thaw will result in runoff coming across the drive, risking washouts. I speak from 50 years' experience and oservation.
Hey Melissa, I know you don't get a lot of snow every year, but when you do, boy it would be nice to have a front end plow for that Kubota. Would you be okay with that purchase...asking for a friend :)
Nice job plowing.. looks like fun. Our last year in CT we had about 84 inches .there was finally no place to put the snow. Now in eastern NC. Lasr big storm dropped about 4-6 inches. Memories comes back. JoeB
Live in far west Texas I hate snow and we had 2" of the white stuff and temps in the teens. I like that attachment. I'm ready for spring. Glad you're ready to see it gone too! God Bless. Hey Hunter from Texas.
Hi Mike, Please forgive me for saying this, while the excavator splitter is a great very useful addition (and a back saver) I as a bean counter cannot help but always look at "The Cost Vs The Return". My 'guess' is that when you add in fuel costs for all of the equipment used (tractor, chain saw, splitter etc.) you will have to produce and sell about 15 to 20 chords of firewood to pay for it (and that is if it was paid for in cash and there are no interest costs involved) While doing something you love doing and working for yourself are both wonderful things, many time working for an employer is more profitable and far less work. God Bles and stay safe.
In Canandaigua, NY we have had another15-17” over the last couple days. But today clear blue sky and sun. Time to get the tractor out and clear the driveway.
We got 30 inches of snow south of Boston last week. It rained Thursday night into yesterday. Melted all that snow and now it’s all frozen. I’m ready for spring too.
Nova Scotia- same exact weather you had yesterday, it is hard to do anything, trying to get to the woods to do some logging so much snow but not frozen underneath it’s messy. Enjoying the tractor pics.
I get to plow our lane out this morning with our open cab farm tractor. 🥶 Thanks for all the pictures. I bet that takes a lot of extra time editing to get them all in there. Appreciate it.
Hi Mike. This comment doesn't go with this video. It has to go with the new Wolfe Ridge log splitter. Y is it that you always have to say how long it's going to take you to split the wood. Is this something you have to do for Wolfe Ridge. It's nice when you don't. When you do your timing thing your wood is all kind of sizes. You are so particular on how long they are. 16 inches long. But when you are doing the timing thing you aren't.
Good morning Mike, yes you do have a mess to contend with. That does happen on that area and you never know when it will happen. Or how often either. Can't second guess Mother Nature but you can be prepared. Stay safe around there, your family is counting on you. Fred.
Use that back blade all you can right now Mike… once you take delivery of that new skid loader, that’s all you will use, I’ve been there, done that, cleaning snow and doing wood now is 90% skiddy!!!
HEY MIKE don't feel bad buddy 😉👍 it was just as bad here 2 snows and 2 rains the ground is mud soup now every where you step water under your feet OMG 2 5 2022
Just finished cleaning up another foot of it. Ya, I’m ready for spring. Liking the pics Mike. Tractor/equipment folks seem happy with life eh! Must be the rural life I’m guessing 😊
Up here in Northern Vermont we received over 18 inches of snow from Thursday evening to Friday evening. Thursday started with rain and temperatures in the high 30’s. The temperature began to drop and the snow intensified. Today the high temperature was 10 degrees. We plowed the driveway and we used the snowblower. The 2305 with the bucket can move a lot of snow in a short period of time. We even plowed out a path to the firewood storage area. So that’s what’s going on here in Highgate Vermont. Have a great day.
15 degree's here in Delanson, NY Mike and the winds are howling! 🥶. We had about 3inches of hard packed sleet and 2 inches of snow to follow. Looking forward to winter being over too!! Have a wonderful day;
Gorgeous Hawaiian morning, high today will be 80 degrees, we love our 2 seasons, wet & sunny, but always warm. Seeing all of that snow helps us appreciate our decision even more to retire in warm weather. Stay safe & warm during your winter. Our son is in Ohio, work & schools were closed the last 2 days. Better to be safe & playing it smart.
North central Texas. We had rain wednesday turned to freezing rain, then sleet all night. Thursday sleet turned to snow all day. We ended up with 1/2 inch ice covered with 3-4inches of sleet and snow. It finally melted saturday.
Just a bit north of you, we had mostly the frozen rain. It doesn't freeze solid on the ground, but rather makes accumulating frozen ball bearings. It's a mess to deal with. On top of that we accumulated about 4 inches of snow. Stay warm!
Good Morning To the Morgans from a cold 🥶 night it is 5 degrees this morning here in Michigan! Yes I'm ready for spring too!! Enjoyed the snow plowing video!! 😊👍👊
Sounds familiar Mike. We had rain then freezing rain, about 1/4 to1/2 inch. Then sleet & a few inches of snow here in Dover Arkansas. Stay the course cause spring will be here soon enough. Y’all have a great weekend.
We enjoyed the video Mike. You guys sure get a lot of snow there. Keeps you busy keeping the roads open. We usually get more where we’re at but we only got about 4-5 inches this time. Enjoying all those tractor pictures. Take care. 👍👍👍❤️
Here in NW New Jersey the trees are filled with ice too. No real new snow. Very cold. It was 6 at 4am. This morning. Very pretty, just don’t leave the house.
Mike I am tried of Winter too. We call Feb Mud Month here where I live in NC. I have a lot to do outside and you just can not work in cold mud. Wish spring would come on now.
Yes Mike, I agree with you, I am tired of winter also. Another 20 inches of snow over these last two days. That makes approximately 64 inches of snowfall so far this winter. Running out of places to pile it all from my driveway. The snow banks are about 8 feet tall along both sides of the drive/parking pad which is about 40 feet long and 24 wide. Southeast New Brunswick Canada.
Yep with 3/4" plus of sleet and ice on the ground it looks like a good day to burn the tops and stump pile left from clearing over a 1/4 acre for a house
