“Lavalier” is a type of microphone. “Boya” is a brand name

@Ruby Amora Unless I am mistaken it sounds like you want to know if it's better to get a lavalier (small wearable mic) or a Boya Mic profiled here that is operating like a mini shotgun mic. The answer is,....it depends on the situation. A lavalier would be best if you are doing an interview with one person you've got time to mic up and want great audio. In that case use a lav. If you want to record audio from multiple people or you're not going to be able to mic each one, or you want to record what's happening in a room and have decent audio you may want to get a shotgun mic (full size) or a small one like the Boya By-P4D. Hope this was helpful. You're still learning and I hope you don't let folks who are not as patient with questions keep you from asking more :-)

@@rubyamora4149 That’s because they are NOT the same and that person does not know what they are talking about. A lavaliere mic can be worn….this mic cannot. Also this mic is at best a mini shotgun mic. Watch out for rude people who think they know it all when someone is asking a genuine question to expand their learning. Does Boya sell lav mics? I’m sure they do but anyone with common sense can tell that you’re asking if a lav or THIS particular Boya is the best option. I shared more info on what ways each type of mic is used above.
