I always assumed Gravity Falls takes place in 2012, which always made them shouting 2013 hilarious to me

Yeah I didn’t know it was supposed to be ambiguous until hearing these track I always just assumed this is the summer of 2012. That’s also why enjoyed the 3012 joke in dipper’s shorts

@@jake33w I actually just remembered that time baby canonically became very mad after the 1000 year period of reconstructing himself after weirdmageddon and we see him in the future going on a rampage, so that's a deeper level

the thing that always made me think Robbie WAS controlling Wendy was the spooky cd case he pulled out in the beginning of the episode. Having it explained that it was just the cd of a death metal band makes what they're saying in the commentary make sense, though

@@MatecaCorp i still would say the episode absolutely implies he did it on purpose through tone, but the writers admitting their mistake of what they intended vs what the final product was makes it all make sense

Literally all Alex needed to do to get out of the "shit why did I make them yell 2013" thing was to tell the fandom "2013" was actually the title of a song by Sev'ral Timez and we would have gone with it lol

I always took them yelling “2013!” to be a joke about them being a decade-too-late band and that 2013 wasn’t the actual year the show took place, so it doesn’t date the show for me.

I interpreted it like this as well! In addition, the Sev'ral Times guys barely know anything about the outside world, so them not knowing what year it is seems fitting to me :D
