2:20 I see the rainfall on Africa... Africa~ I touch the snow of Alaska... Alaska~ I felt the mist of Niagara Now i believe.. In you.. What a beautiful lyrics..
Ronan, Stephen, Shane, Keith and Mikey Graham. Those were the great days when music was actually music and not crap like today's one. This song was released in 1996 if I remember correctly.
Let's not forget this place Let's not neglect our race Let unity become Life on earth be one So let me take your hand We are but grains of sand Born through the winds of time Given a special sign So let's take a stand And look around us now people Let's take a stand And look around us now people Eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, by-yah To a different beat Eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, by-yah Humanity's lost face Let's understand it's grace Each day one at a time Each life, including mine Let's take a stand And look around us now, people So let's take a stand And look around us now People oh people, oh people Eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, by-yah To a different beat Eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, by-yah I've seen the rain fall in africa I've touched the snow of alaska I've felt the mist of niagara Now I believe in you Eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, by-yah To a different beat Eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, eeyea-oh, by-yah To a different beat How far we've come And how far to go Rain does not fall On one roof alone To a different beat
@@aji722Actually it came after Michael Jackson Earth 🌍 Song and History song and the cold war ended and the new millennium was not far off! It was a great time to be alive ✌️❤
I remember I received the Different Beat cassette album and a portable cassette player for Christmas 1996 and I used to listen to this song constantly on repeat! (Which meant I had to repeatedly rewind the cassette as there was no repeat facility on the player! 😄) Those.were.the.days! 😊
I had it on a personal cd player I used to walk around with it trying to hold it still so it wouldn't jump ,,,god I miss those days ,,,take me back love boyzone but it hurts my heart listening to them 😔😥
Ronan was stunningly photogenic and beautiful in those days with a stylish wardrobe. Obviously Steo was always boyishly cute. Nothing lasts unfortunately.
Looking back on Boyzone’s career, they really made an impression with this song which is why went straight to number 1. Their message in this song still resonates today 21 years later. Boybands like 1 direction should really take notice of Boyzone’s songs like this and realise that people listen to the lyrics. Stephen was brave to come out when he did and make a press conference when it was a taboo for boybands to be gay and he the other members had to be seen to be straight and single for all teenage girls to idolise being in a relationship with their favourite member. Boyzone broke all these rules with Mikey and Keith becoming fathers early in their career, Ronan and Shane had flings with members of Eternal and Stephen was rumoured to be going out with Emma Bunton. We fans didn’t mind the fact they had families of their own and were married or gay. We were fans of their music, admiring their looks didn’t go astray either. I’m gutted that they are splitting up for good after the next album, Thank You & Good Night. Maybe if the album and tour does well they might reconsider and change their band name as they are not boys but men.
My fav song from Boyzone. It has a great message about embracing diversity because after all, we're all human beings living on the same planet called earth.
Finally found someone who knows Boyzone later than me...I knew them in 2001, after my music teacher showed us some scenes in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Royal Albert Hall concert, including the Boyz singing No Matter What.
We all who were listen to boyzone back in 1995 definitely have a beautiful nostalgia with the songs from boyzone..but sadly missed Stephen gately aka steo
One of the best 90's boyband I've ever loved... I even still goosebumps listening to this song... Esp Steo's soft and smooth voice, cute-adorable-handsome face awww that I never get bored to look at, really!! My honey and long time eye candy crush STEO... LOVE AND MISS YOU FOREVER, MY LOVE... RIP BABY *KISS & HUGS*
"I've seen the rain fall in Africa, I've touched the snow of alaska, I've felt the myst of niagara, now I believe"......hmmm, i think this lyric is deeply meaningfull that the people are unity around the world....no racism, no war and make it happiness😉
One of my favorites songs. I remember back in 1996 when it was released. I would come from school to switch on MTV and watch this song video in the top 100 charts. Miss old days :(
I was once at a Concert in Berlin, Germany! It was awesome!!! I will never forget that evening in 1997. Whenever I hear a song or see a Video from them, that evening comes straight back into my head. Stephen was only four montags older than me. I truly muss him. RIP Stephen Gately 🤗🤗🤗
I'M so nostalgic of this...Ho GOSH I miss Stephen and his angel's voice so terribly. I was in love with him when a was teenager...so beautiful memories. R.I.P. Stephen...you're gone too soon but for always and forever in our hearts. 💔💔😥
I miss Stephen's voice as well. He wasn't as appreciated when he was alive and that sucks. It just goes to prove that saying that you don't know what you have until it is gone.
Well, his voice was flitty and pretty average, I wouldn't recognize his voice among others. Luckily Ronan Keating has a powerful and unique voice so he saved this song🙂, that's why he always got the important parts of the songs to sing.
Flitty and pretty average? You obviously haven't heard his range in songs like don't stop looking for love or I Believe? Check out For once in your life from the rocky horror picture show, his voice goes through the gears like I have never heard anyones before, he was one of the best vocalists of his time. The world is much darker without him and it's clearly evident BZ just weren't the same without him.
Marie Gladare i was Metallica and Nirvana fans when NKOTB started to hit Indonesia. My sister and our cousins is the one who repalyed NKOTB, Tommy Page and Boyzone and other hit maker boybands. I'm still in the grunge, metal and core music but with good knowledge about "Tonight", "Please Don't Go Girl" and "Step By Step" and of course "Different Beat", "Key To My Life" and "Everyday I Love You".
I'm crying... Music will never be this good or inspirational again... 'How far we've come How far to go Rain does not fall On one roof alone' Such beautiful lyrics...

I visited Dublin for the first time a few weeks back after always wanting to go as a child because back then I thought I'd meet Boyzone if I went ha! So I listened to this song on the way there as we were flying over the Irish Sea and it was amazing to listen to this song and seeing the clouds and Ireland! I like to listen to this song now to remind me of my time in Dublin and going back in just over 4 weeks!
Jacinta Power they are incredible, to see them perform for the first time earlier this April when they came to Melbourne -first and last time!- it was a night of nostalgia for me when I was a teenager in the 90’s but performing as men in their early 40’s... it’s a shame they won’t be continuing anymore.
'Let's not forget this place, 🎶 Let's not neglect our race. 🎶 Let unity become, 🎶 Life on Earth be one.' 🎶 Still listening to this in 2019. 🎵 See you next year... 🗓️
Just heard this song on the radio and brought back so many memories. The first boyband i majorly crushed on. I once posted letter (with international stamps bought from pocket money) and THEY REPLIED with a huge fan kit (posters cd n some merch) all the way to Goa India. I would write n mug all the lyrics (before internet we had to note them by pausing the tape after every sentence). Mixed up words cos of the accent 😅 but still sang confidently at singing competitions. Some songs like 'melting pot' is also great but didn't turn into a video. Miss you Boyzone n thanks for the memories 😊

This song really brings back my beautiful memory, including i had crush with my schoolmate from neighboring class. Hehe i suddenly feel very old lol
