Don't deprive yourselves of "Look What You've Done To Me" and "We're All Alone". You'll forever be kickin' yourselves you could have been listening to them many times over after the reaction.
Didn't think I knew this one, but the chorus proved me wrong. It's been probably 40 years since I heard it. I had an opportunity to see him live a few years ago -- and sadly passed -- forgetting how much good stuff he had recorded.
The female vocalist is Lisa Dalbello. What a voice. She adds SO MUCH to this track. It was a great song to begin with then she steps up to the mic and does her thing. Wow........
Always happy to see Boz on the channel. The vibe of his music is just amazing. I hope y’all do get to Lido Shuffle soon but there are so many others on Silk Degrees to choose from. Or Look What You’ve Done To Me. That one is so dreamy. “Take me up your stairs and through the door. Take me where we don’t care anymore”. C’mon. Those lyrics and his voice. You don’t stand a chance. Thanks, Ty!!!
This song is on everyday at work... I put Yacht Rock or Michael McDonald on Pandora everyday at work and let it fly. (Pandora is approved). His voice is the most unique... Never heard anyone that sounds like him. Saturday Night Fever would be a completely different movie with his songs. NOT BAD - just a different vibe! So good! There is a version of Lowdown where that lady sang with him at the end too... She sang on that.
One of my favorites of Boz Scaggs. I have seen him perform this live at least 4 times. He never disappoints. He sounds the same, sings it with the same soul and his back up singer got standing ovation for her part in the song. She was phenomenal. Love Boz!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤ Love seeing Ty, all the planets align when he's there.😊
You have SO MANY MORE amazing cuts by Boz..you need to see the live version of this done with the Dukes of September....you will lose it!! Love you guys!! My favorite channel to see young ones fall in love with our old favorites!! Your Old Hippie Girl here!!
Good stuff, gentlemen. Boz is a true legend. “Breakdown Dead Ahead “ is four-alarm fire! The live version of “Look What You’ve Done To Me” is spellbinding. And, of course, no comment would be complete without the obligatory request for “On The Border” by Al Stewart.
Wonderful isn't it? Grabbed you from the very beginning. As it did me a long time ago. This is one on my favs by Boz Scaggs. Check out him doing this live...even better than the album, my opinion. Some additional words in the songs live.
I'm surprised you guys didn't research this song further. The female vocalist on the song is a Canadian singer by the name of Lisa DalBello. This was the very first (and actually one of the very few) American-released singles that she sang on. She was extremely young back then and was a bubbly Pop/Soul singer at the time. Soon after this single was released in 1980, however, she smartly formed her own band DalBello and turned her attention more to Rock music. Check-out THIS song that DalBello recorded in 1984 ("Gonna Get Close To You") and hear how drastic the change of music - and vocals - was for her: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e-e-lZekd2Y.htmlsi=umWDhpbm0dA6_2xz You DEFINITELY need to react to this next. Of course, y'all still need to react to "Lido Shuffle," "Georgia," "What Can I Say," "It's Over," "We're All Alone," "Look What You've Done To Me" and finally the hard-rocking "Breakdown Dead Ahead." DO IT!!
I'm really glad this came up on my feed. I loved your reaction to the last two Boz songs. I don't EVER want to miss a Boz Skaggs reaction by the guys of the Views From The 502. Y'all definitely have to react to Lido Shuffle.
Couldn't wait for you guys to get to this one. One of my favorites from Boz and you guys always make it so much fun. Love your heads bobbing in unison. 😂
You guys have the best reaction videos. I love hearing what you guys have to say about the music. This is another excellent reaction video. Welcome back Ty. Thanks for introducing me to Boz Skaggs guys- he's amazing.
Always great to see all three seats full, even with the terrific job that Nick and Ryan have done. Also, congratulations to the guys on being only 1,500 subscribers away from 50K. I hope the planning for an incredible celebration spectacular video is well underway! 🎉
Boz never, Never, NEVER disappoints. BTW--Hey there stranger, Ty 🙂And I have been to many concerts where the opening act blew the headliner off the stage!!!
Next up? Well Lido Shuffle is a must! Georgia Breakdown Dead Ahead What Can I Say And please treat yourselves to the live performance of Look What You've Done to Me from the concert at the Great American Music Hall. The live performances of Jojo and Breakdown Dead Ahead at that concert are awesome too. And the backup vocalists will blow your minds! And one more.... Loan Me a Dime (with Duane Allman)
Boz is fantastic, but you mentioned Al Stewart 🙂I went to my first Al Stewart concert 2 days ago, absolutely fantastic! You must see him while he is touring! I've been a fan since Song on the Radio was a song on the radio. Only Al would do an encore with a song about William McKinley (25th president) and explain how his election strategy is a life lesson for dealing with relationship breakups. Your Al Stewart reaction videos are the only reactions I rewatch, and I watch them every few months
The period between the mid-70’s and early 80’s were very commercially successful for Boz Scaggs, and rightly so. But, in the late 80’s through the present, Boz has done some great albums. Some of them are more blues based music than the 70’s stuff, but it’s worth a listen. Check out Some Change, Memphis, A Fool To Care, and Out of the Blues. You won’t regret it!
Thank you for letting me enjoy my days with you guys, staying away from the news of the world...i did not appreciate these songs when i was younger, you guys remind us of the treasures we enjoyed years ago.
you need to check out the supergroup of the Dukes of September - Boz, Michael McDonald and Donald Fagen of Steely Dan! their version of this is even more FI-YAH!!!
Hey guys, the female vocalist here is Lisa Dal Bello. She was hot in Canada in the late 70s, and was signed by the great David Foster. Foster's connections got her noticed and she performed with several great soul artists, as well as releasing a few great albums of her own. Interestingly, she changed it up in the mid 80s and went into alternative rock, putting out some more great stuff. She was kinda like Alanis Morisette 15 years earlier. Btw, Alanis sites her as an enormous influence. Go down the Lisa Dal Bello rabbit hole, she's insanely talented.
Okay guys go to RU-vid and look up his 2004 St Louis greatest Hits concert. He does all the hits and this is his favorite backup singer... Awesome awesome concert.. live ❤
This isn’t one of my favs of his, but still a good song, and I always love listening to his unique voice. We’re all Alone is a great cover he does that really shows off his vocals, I think you guys will really enjoy it. On another note, I don’t think you guys have covered any Eagles? I would love for you to react to them. They have a huge catalog of songs to choose from: Take it Easy, I Can’t Tell You Why, Take it to the Limit, Hotel California, and so many more. I do enjoy your reactions, so thank you!
Throw you for a curve, wpild love to hear you react to something new from boz, maybe radiator 110 from his newest album, or even I just go or miss riddle from his 2001 album dig
Great stuff guys. Boz is a wonderful artist. Check out Donald Fagen, Michael McDonald and Boz with the 'Dukes of September' live of course. BS does this song beautifully live. Later..
Boz is really generous to his backup singers. He gives them their props! I saw it for myself when I went to his concert. Not only did he give them plenty of feature time, but I maintain that he manages to find the best backups in the business. For an amazing example of how he allows his backups to shine (near the end), you need to react to his live performance of Love Look What You've Done To Me (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oI08u7md2TQ.htmlsi=ACHJjAJP6xWoyXg6), which is a fantastic song even without the thing at the end with the backups.
Since you mentioned scatting, checkout Edgar and Johnny Winter covering Tobacco Road live. Edgar’s scatting is legendary as well as his musicical ability.
