BRITISH RAILWAYS IN THE 1980's
Bournemouth Station on 9th August 1988
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Bournemouth taken on 09/08/1988. The London to Weymouth services at this time were now mainly in the hands of a pair of class 73s. This I believe was to reduce overheating while the class were working under Diesel power. The oil train in the video is the Hamworthy Oil train. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories.
