BRITISH RAILWAYS IN THE 1980's
Carlisle Station on 11th March 1989
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Carlisle taken on 11/03/1989. I caught the night sleeper from Bristol for this visit, a weekend of WCML diversions over the great Settle and Carlisle route. The clip is bountiful of class 47s and 31s awaiting for their next turn of duty. This again was a wonderful bright sunny day with a little cold wind, hence the shakiness at times added with the shaking from the cold temperatures too. (That's my excuse) I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated,but it is not always possible to answer each individually.
