Tonbridge Railway Yard on 19th March 1993
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of The railway yard at Tonbridge, just before you reach the station itself coming from the Redhill line. This was filmed from the very long footbridge spanning this impressive yard on 19/03/1993. Much activity was seen and some surprising stock and traction in rare livery. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Wonderful bit of film, all those 73's, and once again a rake of YEA Perch rail clamping wagons, there's a good chance I may have photographed that leaving Castleton Weld.thank you so much.

Magnificent! Wow 30+ years ago, seems like yesterday eh, busy times there at my local. I was there 2 days before this day for just one snap of 47631 on the Crewe/Edinburgh vans. Nice to see so much variety and all that old stock there. This is just before the track remodelling for the 'chunnel' traffic. There is four locos in this that i modelled back in 90's: 47049, 47142, 47523 and 73117. Interesting to see 60017 with partially removed construction logo, they were starting to be removed during this time (already!). . . And of course, it goes without saying, this is where this particular spotta took his loco-driving girlfriend for some insane, on another level spottin, some decades later! Weird how this yard is almost as busy now as it was then. Thanks for this, shame this isnt 10 hours long lol, cheers.

I remember class 33 33202 and Class 73 73129, travelled behind them on the East Lancashire Railway, EWS weekend in 1999

Great videos. Don't know how I've not came a across it before. Travelled a lot on these lines when I was in ROYAL Navy on way to Portsmouth and sometimes Plymouth. Subbed.😁

Yes 1994 not long after I signed the route from Reading, I only got to do around 5 turns to Tonbridge, and then the "Turbo's" arrived....Many thanks and my sincere best wishes....Mark
