This was so informative! My support dog got this in both front legs when I was taking him to the vet for a very slight limp at the time, the vet tech let him jump out of the car and he went splat. Thanks to your detailed info I have hope now. We will start hydrotherapy, PT s as and hyperbaric oxygen next week!
This was really helpful. Our dog was doing a hike with us, slipped and fell of a rock, yelped and then was limping after. He can bear weight, but his shoulder muscles atrophied. He has pain perception and his elbow seems to operating correclty. It sound like from this video he has the unusual cranial avulsion injury. It took us a month to get him properly diagnosed (thought it was an orthopedic injury), and we are just starting PT with him. Can we hopefully expect a full recovery and how long might it take?
My dog jumped out of my car & was diagnosed with brachial plexus on her right front paw . I followed your suggestions & got her into therapy right away & now she is walking on her 4 legs !! Thank you ❤!! She does continue to knuckle the paw once in a while any recommendations for that ?
My dog is a seven-month-old, 4-week out brachial plexus injury. I've got her using a brace. And I'm thinking of having one custom made. Could you do update on braces and other type of prosthetics for dogs that can move their shoulder and elbow??
My pup had this and they thought he would need amputation. I did physio with him and now he can use his leg but his shoulder muscles are weak and he starts limping after excercise. Do I get him a brace? If so so I get it for his shoulder or his wrist or both?
What is the outlook for an 8 year old dog with brachial plexus injuries in both front legs? She can’t put weight in either leg, and can only push herself around with her hind legs.
