probably common sense, but now that it's in effect, I should remind everyone of something important. *DO NOT REVENGE VOTE.* Don't vote against a character because they beat a character you like more (ex: voting against Rick because he beat FFS). please continue to vote responsibly

Revenge voting is such a weird concept imo. If someone was upset that one character won over the other, I don't think they'd be inclined to vote for that character the next round. If someone is indifferent to one character and doesn't like another, would it be irresponsible voting to vote for the indifferent character? Not defending revenge voting btw, I know the dangers of a fervent hatebase can have on a tournament community. I'm just geniunely curious.

@unionjack0638 I swear I just like ScatHat's music more and I don't ever focus on revenge voting. Elliana took away PWP which was the #1 team I was rooting for, but I'm still voting for Elliana cause I like her music more than GSports. Same with Painful Dreamers since Lil' Darkie was my #2, and MONSTERMAU5 which they knocked Snailiens my #3 down to losers, but I'm voting for all 3 of them this match. Like I literally only have 2 Rick songs in my Playlist and they are both from the match with FFS. His uh.... interesting style of music just isn't for me, and I think he overuses Never Gonna give you up even though he is the Rick Astley. While I have like 5 faves from Scathat. Rick just isn't my type, I just thought I would joke a bit and say it's an extra incentive to vote against Rick, but I really do swear if I did manage to like his music more. I would vote for Rick.

I feel like a dumbass for voting Rick and Scatman & Hatman at WR1 without informing myself that the swap is going to be diagonal and that meant the loser of WR2 M6 will fight with Club Bangers. That means that inevitably one of these three contestants I just mentioned is going to end up in SRL

I feel like a lot of these are equally matched. The main ones I think would be unevenly stacked are Rick against Club Bangers (CB would probably win imo) and either Bad Girlz or MONSTERMAU5 against MAD/EON. I wanna say that both Hat Kid and Reanimatedd would have the odds tipped in their favor against Heavy, but it's hard to say.

If it’s anything like last rounds, these round are gonna even be better than the last matches. And this bracket even more peak. I’m so hyped to see what is in store for these rounds, we good some big fights coming along so these are gonna get tough! It’s always a joy to witness how the team improves and tops themselves every time, the first round was great, the LR1 was even better, so it should these matches will somehow be even better and continue from then. I can’t wait!

I couldn’t be happier to be proven right. It’s peak, too peak the visuals are sooooo top tier, and the mashup itself is so good. A blend of all the characters. My favorite parts where the little brief moments and transitions between all the characters in the bracket. The visuals from The Crypt of Cooking and Karaoke were like a treasure for what’s to come, and this is the true dish, and they cooked this dish like a goddamn 5 star restaurant. I’m soooo hyped for these matches man.

I have a few thoughts and questions about people’s voting methods. I agree that we should be voting based on the music, as opposed to other attributes of the characters, but I disagree with voting for the sources only in an abstracted sense, without regard to how they’re used in specific mashups or for which character uses their sources in more interesting or compelling ways in actual songs, which is a way of voting I see recommended a lot. It makes more sense to me to vote based on the mashups themselves, since that’s where the characters make concrete contributions. There have definitely been matches where a character who I thought contributed much more to the overall sound of a match ended up losing. I also think voting based on sources on some level defeats the purpose of the tournament, since you already know everyone’s sources beforehand. If everyone just votes for their favorite sources, the tournament pretty much runs itself, regardless of the content of specific matches. For me, there have been times where I liked one character more conceptually, but ended up supporting the other character because I felt they used their repertoire better. What are the reasons for voting for the preconceived sources instead of their practical use in actual songs?

For me it really depends on how characters uses their sources to their advantage. I usually vote characters if I enjoy the vibes they show off in their tracks. Obviously with sources having a lot of songs they come with , its always not guaranteed that the vibes will remain consistent. I wouldn't say voting by the sources ruin the point of the tournament though since they are the ones that help defines the characters music vibe. Their other purpose is to showcase what a potential takeover would look like for each character. So if people want to see a takeover that relies on specific sources, they would vote for the character that has them. I do agree with some of the points they make in this comment. All of us tourney fans have our own unique tastes on what music we prefer or not.

here's my take: the tracks are part of it, sure, but it really isn't the entire picture. something i feel that ppl miss is that the takeover tracks are pretty different from the tournament ones, as they aren't mashups revolving around a character's sources like what you see here, but moreso mashups/tracks FEATURING a character's sources. looking at Scott Week, we got a wide range of stuff (wildest example is a lil darkie track w/ mushroom gorge/mario kart in it). also, consider that the ppl who actually make the music in these are ppl with their own tastes and styles that incorporate stuff they like or stuff they thing sounds good together in their own ways, so a character's "sound" and especially what they pull isnt definitive what of what they are. "practical use" is just ppl making music cuz they like making music. THAT'S the real point of tournaments, actually, when it comes to your "tournament running itself" point, at least when you ask a lot of ppl who work on these from what I've seen. making content surrounding these chars and the music they represent is what it's all really about, and the voting, bracket, winner and prize are just a side thing lowkey. sure, competition is seemingly at the front, but these are really just big media projects. with that side tangent ig what i'm trying to say is that the sources are equally if not more important the tracks, cuz they're the tools at the base of it all. then again, tournament's are fun media projects at the end of the day, like i said. it's rly not that serious lol vote how you want.
