It's like turning a crystal in your hand and seeing it how it catches the light.

He has such incredible control of dynamics among the voices. Breathtaking.

That continuous G was amazing considering everything else going on.

0:36 I love how he adds another voice above the melody but plays it so delicately to keep it from overshadowing the voice in the middle, such a simple but nice touch.

Just can't stop watching it. The simultaneity of his absolute perfection and the realization that I am a musical idiot adds to complete the experience.

So many years have passed since I sat in a little club in Hollywood shoulder to shoulder with friends to hear Brad and his trio. I knew I was experiencing a once in a life moment. The elegance and eloquence of his voice is so deep and rich with feeling. Rilke in his fingertips.

What I love about Brad Mehldau is how very deliberate he is with not only every note, but also with the sustain pedal. You can hear every, single note.

Mehldau is a genius. Wonderful sound on this piano.

Stressed out coming off a long and crowded Tube ride after a busy day in the city, closing myself in a dark bedroom, and putting this on. My heart rate is at least 20% slower and my anxiety and exhaustion are halved. Just gorgeous.

Masterpiece played by a master. I used to try to write songs, and I wrote a lot of them. There was one I was really proud of for several minutes, until I finally realized I'd just done a (bad) cover of Blackbird. Songwriting is really hard, humbling work. I guess unless you're Sir Paul. On the plus side...I think it does give an extra dimension to your appreciation of the greats if you've given a shot at writing songs yourself.
