Now, that's what you call a Pitt Bike. Those BMW tank liners are a nightmare. Mine decided to come off in huge sheets AFTER I spent £££ having the outside of the tank sprayed and pinstriped. I used electrolysis to get rid of the rest of it and just run it bare. It's doing ok, but I do keep it as full as possible to prevent rust.
Thank you sir! I feel your pain. There are tank liner folk out there that can preserve the paint and get you setup with a new liner. I'd guess you're looking at a 10 year lifespan with no liner at all

Where do you keep finding all those beautiful Marchal lights! I like the conversion to LED, I didn’t notice it because the light seems very warm, Nice touch! Still looking around for a Marchal light to put on my R75/5.

I don't think the alloy rims are the original ones from this bike because the R80 '85 rims do have a bit of a curved shape at the side. These rims are from a younger R80. I've both of them... that's how I know. You can actually see this at the still pictures.
