That one orphan boy screen time is short but he was so helpful . He’s chill, didn’t scream or be a burden like Gerry and Karyn children, he knows English and translated it to his parents who don’t know English and vice versa. He even knows how to use a gun escaped his family apartment when zombie broke in without his parents and went to the top (his parent prob held the zombie back and turned) and used it to save Gerry, what a badass and mature boy, he didn’t even show fear. Edit: Bro even “look after” thier kids or maybe only the older one, if you watched the movie then you definitely know what I mean.
I also like that they pretty much adopted him after all that happened, I like this movie mostly because it doesn't follow the humity isn't even trying to fight back trope and let's the virus completely take over and destroy the world, in the end humanity actually found a way to "win" unlike most zombie films.
I remember when I first saw this part and I was surprised that the helicopter rescue actually worked. They usually don't. The helicopter usually tries to rescue the protagonist and his family/friends, attempts to land on the roof and gets overrun by zombies. The pilot then freaks out and tries to take off while the soldiers inside try to fight off the zombies but there's too many and they get overrun, followed by a spectacular shot of the helicopter spinning out of control while the protag is forced to watch on helplessly until it crashes down. But this time, the rescue actually worked and they successfully fended off the zombies and took the protag with them.
what I like is the scene right after where the family "adopts" the now orphaned boy. I found it touching that they immediately and naturally considered him as one of their children.
@@Raghgghhhaaahhhhhhas Lol nobody was getting on that ship before being stripped buck naked and examined, but it would have been cool to see how the infection played out in the sea
@@007DirtysouthOn an aircraft carrier it could be a very tight spaced diaster. If it got to the engineering and reactor area they'd be in a bad place.
Yes, I didn't catch that the first time I saw the movie either. I saw it three different times at the movie theater, LOL. I'm not usually a zombie fan but this movie got me. I'm also pretty sure that the zombie that was able to grab hold of the helicopter and was being lifted up in the air was the boy's mother. It goes by pretty fast but when I saw it on the big screen it shows up better.
I always loved the chopper part... when the soldiers gives him green light to open the door... and how they get up and leave, surrounded by a 100 zombies at least that would have tear them to pieces....
Brad Pitt's character (Gerry) is one of the few fictional characters who were 100% "going to take care of themselves" if they get infected. Stand up guy.
The fact he was ready to so from simply getting blood in his mouth is impressive to show just how logical and safe he was trying to play it, he wasn't even taking any chances I still don't get how people in zombie movies and series can get whole ass bites and scratches and their gonna just walk it off like their somehow special
I like the realistic writing. Normally the blood and saliva goes everywhere and the dude is like "Naw, its ok" lol, like "HOW DO YOU KNOW?!" Here he is like "I know nothing about this virus. I may be infected" and then actively waits to off himself at the first sign of infection.
True, but direct transmition from a bite goes into the bloodstream, while entering the mouth could take significantly longer, so theoretically he could have been infected but it will take 30 mins before it strikes.
@@GnosticAtheist Sure, but at least it was something he considered. The only other thing I'd have done differently here is when I got on board the heli, have told them that I may be infected and to monitor me for the duration of the flight.
I love how Gerry went to the edge of the building as soon as he got zombie's blood all over his face, that way if he turned into zombie he can just finish himself off and not endangering his family
3:40. On the towers on the far right, there's a group of humans/zombies on the top running towards the helicopter. They're probably zombies, but could have very well been humans as well since (I thought I saw) a few of them didn't run or move at all. Interesting detail, wonder why they included that?
I love the book and this movie to death but one thing that left me wanting from the movie was Gerry's wife Karyn. She seems so competent, has good reflexes, has excellent survival instincts and seems to know her way around most gear. I'm just so curious about her background!!
Generally government workers like Gerry would attempt to give their spouses some form of self defense training. Gerry is a professional - I can totally see him doing that for her.
Tbh, the show "The Walking Dead" wouldn't have lasted soooo long if the zombies/walkers were fast-paced instead of being slow. Most of the characters, even major ones, would've been dead in the first few seasons only. This stretched the series to *11* seasons and even now it has not ended. Tbh, after season 7, the movie becomes a bore, really
agreed i was considering watching it but just seeing how bad the zombies takes the immersion right out of it. maybe the 1st season they go faster than most humans walk backwards idk and idc it feels from what i have seen that the only threat comes from infighting between the living and stupidity.
I think a new virus strain of running hunter zombie archetype could have saved the show. Like imagine out of the blue one of the starts running at you. That would have been a nice change of pace
I loved how they did them in this movie and 28 days later. They run just like a human at full speed, except since they are dead, they never feel tired or out of breath, the muscles just keep on going. This makes it that even if you are a fast runner, they will eventually catch you anyway, making running not a viable option at all which makes them scarier.
The only thing that pisses me off in this movie is his wife. She already saw him being held down by the zombie but the first thing she did is run. She's also the reason why the soldiers died during his transport because she thinks it's a fucking good idea to call during his mission. She's only good at screaming attracting even more zombie to them.
You sound like the kind of guy who just hates women in any movies to be fair. What is she meant to do? she also has two little girls she needs to look after who would be utterly screwed if they were orphans in a world that hostile.
@@robertking7157 there's only one zombie that attacking at that time and she run away even though she saw him being held down. How's that lead to hating woman in the movie in general? The zombie is also coming from the lower floor and there's only one way to the top floor so the kids won't even get lost. They already know they are being chase by flesh eating monster, what kind of idiot won't even bring some weapon to at least she can protect herself. It's only a bad writing on the author on her part not some BS hating women on movies.
Honestly, I wouldn't blame her. 1. Her #1 task then was to make sure the kids got to the heli and she did. 2. I would consider that more of a practical problem. The phone should've been on silent. And he should call instead, much less cause for distraction. Breakdown in methods is all rather than any single persons fault
World War Z is by far the most accurate zombie movie ever not because a drop of zombie blood can get you infected, But how havoc and massacre this zombies are, Honestly they are so restless once they see there prey.
Another great upload. I adore the amount of detail in your videos and how your animations are so expressive. Makes me feel like I'm watching a cartoon show it's that good. Great work. 😊👍
It is. I'm not sure if it was shot and then cancelled in the edit, but apparently he was going to have a much bigger role. The role was that he was going to have an affair with Jerry's wife.

Idk why but this helicopter pilots just pisses me off a little. Like hello, the soldiers had already said let's go let's go, and u see zombies running after your helo, u quickly take off and bank left, but instead the pilots taking their sweet time to yaw left and slowly takeoff 🤦♂🤦♂.
this was the weakest point of the movie when he got the blood all over him and in his mouth. how does that not make him one? of course it's brad pitt and that would be like ned stark being killed but still a bite works with saliva but not direct blood transmission like aids way too much claiming meds when that point was pushed hard in this movie.
I didn't watch the movie but a straightforward explanation would be that ingestion of biomass doesn't result in it directly entering your bloodstream the same way a bite through skin does. It's similar to how injecting, ingesting, and inhaling a drug all result in what should be the same effect but with varied intensities, regions of effect, and durations. Is eating infected biomass dangerous? I doubt there's a scene of people doubling back to try and eat zombie but if the movie established somewhere that ingestion results in infection, then yeah, not much of an excuse there unless it's an issue of concentration of exposure (for diseases in real life, the immune system provides a threshold that density of pathogen needs to overcome in order to effectively guarantee infection) specific to ingestion versus transmission via biting. If not, there's always the possibility that the virus is rendered ineffective when digested. While it getting in his mouth is something of a gray area, I'd counter-argue that it getting all over his face, thus possibly in his nose and eyes is less debatable. They aren't directly connected to the bloodstream either but the respiratory and visual system may pose less of an obstacle than digestive would, and many common pathogens are adapted to infiltrate via these methods due to how much easier it is to infiltrate through these channels.
@@c01e26 hay most shows aren't as willing as the walking dead to kill people that the millions of viewers love. if seeing their head gets bashed in makes them millions so be it in walking dead, but all others aren't that strong to do what's right.
