It's hard to believe that Brad Renfro (July 25, 1982 - January 15, 2008) has been gone for 12 years and that he would have been 38 years old. This talented actor had a troubled family life (although he adored his grandmother, who had custody of him from the age of five), but sadly, he was not as supervised and protected as he should have been when he working as a minor, and this undoubtedly, led to many of his problems. His tragic death was overshadowed by the death of Heath Ledger roughly a week later (also tragic) and like Ledger, he was a father. In the late 1990s, Renfro had a promising career and while he continued to work until the end of his short life, it was marred by drug addiction and problems with the law. Despite his problems, he had a vulnerable side that many people saw and a generosity of spirit that others admired. I hope this is a fitting tribute; the song is by OK Sweetheart and I used clips from as many of his films that I could find on DVD as well as a television guest appearance on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent".
I will not forget you, Brad 😢 ... Beautiful tribute. I adore his personality, his wild, extrovert side, he had a good heart and was a great actor and musician. ❤
He was such a talented actor and down to earth young man. The same age as I am. I was struck hard when he passed and can hardly believe it’s been nearly 14 years. RIP Brad.
