Sorry. It happened to a lot of us. I did hold on to quite a few of mine though. All but two coming out of my barn are ours and we have more in there!

We happen to have a solid 4 door 56 in our collection. it has a title and runs, even has brakes. some idiot removed the trim and sanded it, now its surface rusted. And it seems no one wants it. they all want our 55 two door wagon. but there isnt much love for a 56 more door. I think I will give it a rattle can black primer paint job and start driving it.

I haven't bought any 56 Chevrolets in years. Our collection is old. I never bought one with AC and have since learned of other accessories that I have never seen On a car! At my age I probably will not buy any more as I am thinning the herd to make life easier for my kids after I depart and trying to help save the America my ancestors founded for us.

@@TheJunkyardChaplain we used to talk from time to time. I changed my handle and resubscribe to your site / channel. Are you selling any 56 Chevy parts? I of course be real interested in the 56 Chevy nomad if you still have one in your herd that you're going to sell. Now I got my 56 Chevys the old fashioned way for the most part. Bought them a long time ago and hang on to them hear it so most likely if you just have a buildable 56 Chevy nomad that is where I would be at. I would just need the nomad exclusive parts to be part of that car. Now I've not been as far up into New England as you are located at. Always want to go see what I think they call the Allegheny road. Dries up through New England. Isn't that grand part of what we do searching out old cars seeing the great country we live in. I'm not done much of that last couple 3 years. Anyway I guess that you didn't move because I given you several general locations that would be suitable for you and your collection. The convertible that your friend was building for you that you rescued whatever happened to it? Like I said I've got a few to catch up on this winter episodes of years between then and now. Rustober is coming up. I plan to have that 56 with air conditioning in the dash ready for the car show. It's all surface rust. Spic and span on the bottom side. I just want to put the rust into the car show! A little late in the air for me to go to Colorado but you did a couple of shows out there on this one lady's property and I'm interested in an item she had out there.

Those 56 Chevrolets were 11 years old when the truck disappeared. The registration license plates are still on them. They didn't rot away like most Fords.

The 'step child' syndrome. All the young guys wanted the 55's and 57's so they junked the 56's and the yard owners only sold the parts that could go on 55's, then crushed them. I saved as many as I could in my old barns for 40 years as we drove them. All but two that came out of my barn door are ours. (Plus a few more)!

My 56 2 door was restored by myself , and stolen 2 years later , haven’t had one since that I could work on, I like the wagons even a nova wagon but my favorite is 56!
