Braddock was once one of the richest towns in the world. Around 1900 it was a pivotal area for the steel industry and was home to many wealthy industrialists. Today it has lost 90% of its population and is a shell of its former self. Former Mayor John Fetterman has made claims that the town made a major turn around under his leadership, but the only major visible change was an increase in demolishing vacant homes.
