He was one of those players that was just classy..... the way he moved, tough, hard defender, brilliant hands, skillful runner, on another level. Kenny and Fittler were the other classy players.... Brad an AMAZING player and real gentleman......
Bradley Clyde was one of the best Rugby League players to ever set foot on the field. He unfortunately suffered from heavy injuries and was unable to go to on to show what he could do. Not only was he a great he was a gentleman and very well respected.
It’s a shame bradley isn’t brought up more as an all time great. He was the best back rower of the 1990s. But guys like Tallis and Menzies and Gilly or sirro get all the plaudits. He kinda sits in the category of miles and kimmorley where they were among the best going but everyone remembers their rivals more. The 94 raiders and the 1998 broncos are the 2 best teams I’ve ever seen, I can only imagine that playing against those teams would have felt similar to playing against one of those 50s-60s dragons teams.
@westtiger5798 yes, totally right there champ. And in '91, he replaced The King for the second and third test, when you guys killed us in the two remaining games.
I worked with Bradley Clyde back in 2012 (his desk was next to mine). We had an office touch-football team that played at lunchtimes. I told him that we'd love to have him but I doubted we could fit him in under our salary cap. He just laughed and said there'd be "a big fat egg" next to his name. 😆 So, yeah, he played for our touch football team for $0!! Genuinely one of the nicest, most humble blokes you'll ever meet in your life.
Best forward I've ever seen, and I go back to 1973. Ps. Why not ask each Legend to pick a greatest team from all the players they played with and against. Would be brilliant.
Bradely was local champ, He played for west Belconnen, I was good friends with his sister Bernadette. So unfortunate that he was injured so young. He would have been one of the best players ever to have graced the field.
Raiders fan for life Clyde changed the way a lock forward played then came Ali lautiti who took it to another level but Clyde will always be my fav loxk forward
First game back from a knee reconstruction / surgery. Didn't have his knee stapped, taped a knee brace or anything like that. Man his mental toughness couldn't be measured
