Just discovered your channel. Thank you for making kumihimo less intimidating! I have tried to learn in other ways and using other channels without success, but you have explained this style in a way that I understand. I really appreciate your work here.

I have never seen using a stop bead in this weave and it looks a lot less cumbersome than winding it on a spool. I am definitely going to try this! Thank you!
Thanks for your videos, I love the way you teach so much! I just have one question: when I finished it seemed as if some beads were too deep inside, how do I avoid that? I didn’t notice that when I was braiding, I did make sure the beads went under the thread.
Laura Sheffield - It all depends on the size of the bead, the width of the cord, your tension and the style of bracelet and it is important to check the length of the braid as you work rather than working to a number of beads. For size 8 beads I start with about 40 beads on each cord and for size 6 beads I start with about 30.
Prumihimo Thank you for you help, I love the calming way you teach it’s very captivating. I’m going to have a go today 🙂 fingers crossed It will turn out reasonably well xx
Use a larger bead as a stop bead. After you have threaded on the beads pass through the larger bead twice in the same direction. You will be able to move this bead up and down the cord to keep the beads close to the disk and to release more cord as necessary.
