Braidless Sewn In on Short Hair with nylon thread 

This is something I've done to my hair many times. No damage, No stress. No one could ever tell I had a sew in either.

I've never seen a braidless sew in. You did a great job!

This method is called pinch weave. The star stitches prevent the thread from slipping. A lot of my clients would request this when adding a track,or two, and you would have to be familiar with the take down in order of not damaging your hair.

Thanks for posting. I learned that technique down at Dudley's. It's great for a small space on the hair. When you split the track, I'd try to have all the prep work done to the track before my client arrives. I'm so slow. Because I'm meticulous. But thanks for posting!

like the idea, but isn't this added weight to the natural hair? the nylon thread can also cut the natural hair also?

That was brilliant. I wish I could do that to myself in a small spot in my bangs. I also didn't know you could split a track that way. I loved it and I subscribed. Please no one negative comments even if they are helpful. I'm sure she can fix it for you just by talking you through it

This method goes back to the early 90's. It could cause a serious problem with thin hair(really with any hair type). Normal combing the hair puts serious stress on the hair, especially already thin hair. Keep in mind the thread is technically knotted around the hair to support the sewn on weft of hair. Yes, the weave is close to being undetectable, but my opinion is, it is not worth the sacrifice of possible hair loss. Back in 90's when we used this as one of our methods of hair augmentation, we used it less and eventually stopped using it because we found it to be less safe. Snipping the thread to remove the tracks could be very tedious. It could be done but usually there will be some hair trapped in the thread. Again, this is just my opinion.

That's a lot of work, but I would be willing to try on a small area of my hair on the side where I sleep because it's very thin. It's a small place and worth the sewing. I'm glad I watched

Get a seam ripper! It’s safer to use when splitting wefts, taking out sew-ins.

Looks like her hair is already thinning due to the thread breaking it. May as well glue them. I think sewing the hair to a braid is much more safe

how is this style protecting your hair I don't know about this and look like it was damaged cause you to be bald I just don't understand with the style

She had a beautiful model. I like this method for the few thin haired women I need options for. Short hair styling is the REAL option after all that heavy deep wave crap pulls out your edges. After bleaching,perming,coloring,and faded textures that's a nice professional look. I love it. You know we can't all walk around with afros...so everything is damaging.

A lot of work but a good idea if glue is an issue. Looks nice, for the style that it is.

I've seen this thread before. It's shiny and stretchy. I bought it by accident once. The more it stretches the more it loosens and it doesn't hold the hair very tightly. I don't think this would damage her hair being that it's shirt and straight. Natural hair and long hair I could see more issues occurring.

How would that hold up if I use curly hair because you know you would use water on a lot with its lip and also how do you take it down without cutting your hair off

It's a pretty style but I'm just wondering if the sew in was necessary.

This is not damaging when the hairstylist has been trained/ certified to do this. It's been done for decades. You're not supposed to add a ton of hair like your the main performer at a concert then this is not for you. You don't want people to know you have in weave, and you don't manipulate your hair much, then this is for you.

I’ve done this strand by strand method using loose bulk natural hair . It makes the commercial hair look like it’s growing straight out from the scalp. Just be careful when removing it.

Her hair already looks fragile and sewing it like that will propably rip out hair and leave her with baldness...

Considering her hair is super thin, this is too, much tension on what little hair she has. Which means, when it's time to remove, more of her own hair is going to come out. Especially, if she repeats this style. Most women don't give their hair rest between sew in's. Should be allowing your hair to regroup @ least 2months with deep conditioning, oil treatments, clipped ends, protein treatments, etc.something. Love protein treatment every 6 weeks, it actually stop your hair breaking period, provided you follow instructions carefully. When you reach my age 51, you would still have your edges, then some. But salon stylists continue weaving you until your perimeter is 5 inches from the front. So, the more your hair comes out, don't grow back, the more you're going to want a weave, the more money they make. Even elementary school girls, by the time they're 10, edges thinning or already gone. It breaks my heart when I see little girls brain cells braided too, tight. Moms, just take of your child's hair. Sorry. Know I'm off the subject at hand. It bothers me tremendously when your regular stylists just continue weaving to cover area's they damaged, like, skip to the loo my darling, I'm not going to pay attention to this empty space, be sure to pay on your way out attitude. It's all about the numbers not the clients hair or scalp care. Yes, you look hot for the moment, but still going to be baldylox forever.
