I am community college student planning to a university for Neuroscience but looking at this professor and how she teach I realize I have never received a professor at CC who was this engage and had so much enjoyment in learning as a professor the two years I have been there

Thank you NYU for this lecture, i am due to start studying psychology this year and I have been looking for a little more information on neuroscience as i think this is the area i would like to specialise in eventually. This has been the best resource I have seen so far , thank you very much: it's nice to see such a passionate lecturer delivering such a well thought out and digestible lesson .

I have so many questions. I’m convinced that in some way I might have damaged my brain by weed ( I’m not a smoker or smoked for so many years) but when I did smoke I had some very intense events with weed along with some traumatic events which caused me to deal with instrusive thoughts and anxiety. I don’t smoke or drink anymore but I still deal with the this crap. I legit want to scan my brain and see what areas are effected and how I can fix it

Also my experience with sociopaths their predatory drive is to strong for them to value personal space. They whole concept of personal space "bubble" may offend them. Once again not understanding the purpose and feeling stupid about it.
Do the synapses "allow" us to do what we do, or are they merely correlates to our behavior? The "why" behind the behavior isn't necessarily in the neurology, the neurology may simply be a correlate to the behavior. Block the synapses, the behavior doesn't occur, but likewise, block the behavior, the neurology probably changes. "Cause and effect" is difficult to disentangle here away from correlation evidence.

Neo-nazis have been pushing this for a while. A lot of alt-right channels on RU-vid were. RU-vid finally got around to banning a lot of them recently. About time. But yeah, unfortunately they’re definitely around. “Leftube”, the leftist side of political RU-vid, regularly mocked the concept a year or two ago. Contrapoints, a leftist youtuber, had a phrenologist character appear fairly regularly in her skits a year or so back. I never followed the neo-nazi channels for what I hope are obvious reasons but I’m aware of at least a couple that almost certainly believed in the idea.
