Some of us have had mixed experiences with Alpha Video in the past, but make no mistake we love this stuff. Off-labels, weird labels, DYI labels, whatever you want to call them are the backbone of collector-dom. I used to go to the homes of film collectors who stored dangerous nitrate in their basement while we screened obscure oddities on various film formats and some even sold their own bootlegs on VHS etc. I love the wild and varied world and the spirit of the underground renegades and weirdos trying to keep the art and fandom alive and congratulate Brian and Alpha for upping their game with more releases and better quality and for supporting new filmmakers, too.

Another informed and fun deep dive interview with Brian. Collectors have always seemed to default to the larger labels like Arrow, Imprint and Criterion but Alpha deserves our attention on its catalog of releases.

Thanks for another great conversation. Love to hang out with passionate movie fans. After the last chat, I placed a couple big orders - including all those great PRC titles you mentioned. Some - but not TOO many - years back, I picked up a bunch of those East-West DVD titles that came up during this chat at a local dollar store, and they were worth every penny. "Hoppity Hooper", "Crusader Rabbit" (the really early stuff), "Diver Dan" and "Kimba the White Lion" (a favorite on our local Sgt. Sacto show back in the late 60s) and Col. Bleep (vol 2). As misspent youth turns to misspent old age, I've got to thank Alpha for continuing to churn out various B-movie titles I grew up with on local TV. Thank you, Brian and Heath, for keeping the flame lit...and dangerously close to the curtains.

I have "Encounter with the Unknown" on a Blu-ray Double feature with "Sasquatch." (1976) from Code Red, now OOP I understand. Both are good pictures worth seeking out.
