The funny thing is that this class has turned out to be better than expected. I learned some interesting facts from new things about brain health. e.g Have you ever wondered why when you're thirsty and take a big glass of ice water, your brain tells you that your thirst is quenched in a few seconds? But it does. It takes 10 to 20 minutes for the water to make it into the bloodstream so that the brain is find that you no longer need water. Your brain has been learning specific muscle movements by prediction, optimizing for efficiency through a process called allostasis. Allostasis refers to the brain's continuous and proactive efforts to maintain stability by anticipating the body's needs and preparing to meet them before they arise. It's like your brain is constantly running a series of budgets, making sure you have enough resources to function optimally.
