☀️ Learn Buteyko Breathing with Neil on Zoom: www.thebuteykomethod.com/
In this video I’m going to teach you the simple breath-holding technique that helped me heal my Brain Fog.
This science-backed approach has helped me enormously in my recovery from burnout and long covid. So if you’re feeling foggy, if you are struggling to concentrate or your brain is feeling really sluggish, this video can show you how to go from brain fog, to clarity.
00:00 Intro
01:37 My Brain Fog Story
04:29 Breath Holding benefits for Brain Fog
06:28 Guided Many Small Breath Holds Exercise - Buteyko Breathing
13:51 Next Steps
If you are experiencing brain fog, you know that it can be pretty unpleasant. Some people find that they can’t concentrate, for others it’s a dullness or sense of mental fatigue.
So in this video I’m going to share some of what I’ve learnt from my brain fog journey, how certain types of breathing techniques can help, and then I’ll guide you through one of the exercises so that you can experience it for yourself.
Also, what’s really exciting is that there are a whole group of breathing exercises called the Buteyko Method that can be used to permanently cure brain fog, for some people anyway, so stay tuned to the end of the video, and I’ll give you some more information about those.

I used to think 'brain fog' was fake until I had covid TWICE! I experiened some brain fog the first time I caught covid, but it went away after a few months. Unfortunately I caught covid again and now I am going on over a year with mild to severe brain fog to the point that I go into panic attacks. I've seeked medical help for months and nothing has worked. It has gotten to the point where doctors think I am making it up or I am losing my mind. Your breathing exercise have definitely been of great help. Although I still have brain fog from time to time, it is not as severe and I have not experienced any further panic attacks. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO WITH THE WORLD! I feel it has definitely saved my life, thank you.

Yeah, this is why people say to breathe into a bag when having a panic attack. CO2 increase actually signals the body to absorb more O2. This is a tried and true method, and is also key to anaerobic exercise.
@thebuteykomethod
@thebuteykomethod 10 месяцев назад
Hey @JessieJussMessy yes absolutely "CO2 increase actually signals the body to absorb more O2" - spot on. As an aside - for panic attacks it's safer to use cupped hands with a small air gap between the fingers. That way the CO2 doesn't build up too fast (which can also cause panic) and also avoids the risk of Hypoxia.

The science is: It is the CO2 that pushes the O2 into the hemoglobin to then enter our cells. Most people over-breath.

Yea and no. In a case of hyperventilation you're doing it to counteract the effect and getting back to normal co2. Here you want to increase co2 above baseline.

While i agree that a good diet and mental health are vital and that one must move around as much as one is able despite difficulties, thise with chronic fatigue cannot do extreme exercises, they pay with extreme exhaustion , fatigue, brain fog, the next day which lasts days. Walking daily is the best aim and doable. Stretching exercises also. We feel inadequate when people tell us to do strong exercises as try as we do, we cant, we pay. Though if able go for it! And i am Glad it works for you and you are doing self care. This technique is wonderful if it clears some of the brain fog. It certainly aids breathing and calming. @thebuteykomethod 10 месяцев назад
Wonderful! I'm glad you found it so calming and relaxing. Yes the yawn can be a sign that the body is shifting into rest and digest mode. I've actually just recently discovered on my own that doing "belly breathing" during my walks, while doing long exhales, but exhaling completely, and then doing a quick "to the belly" exhale, and then repeat, I would feel a super sharp alertness, clearer eyesight, etc. I can say from personal experience alone, that this video is definitely valid.
@thebuteykomethod
@thebuteykomethod 10 месяцев назад
Thank you so much for sharing 🙏. Yes the long exhales can down regulate the nervous system - helping us to shift into rest and digest mode which can divert more blood flow to the brain. Also, more CO2 build up. It might be worth experimenting with a slightly slower inhale and not exhaling for quite as long to see how that feels - just if it feels right for the body - it's always interesting to explore and experiment with the breath as long as it feels good to the body and mind :)

Fantastic! That's amazing that it is helping you so much Jack, and thanks so much for sharing ❤️. So during this exercise, the max breath hold length is half of your control pause (explained here www.thebuteykomethod.com/buteyko-breathing/the-control-pause-a-complete-guide). So as your control pause increases, you can do longer breath holds. Just allow more time in between. You can also now try other Buteyko exercises like the other ones in my channel if you haven't done so already: ru-vid.com/group/PLSTo-HpulVrACv7bUGOSErDit8n42rhF4

I use the wim hoff method, i can very much recognize the enhanced awareness you're speaking of. After a heavy session, I am more aware for the rest of the day. It's a much more hardcore version of this. After trying this, I am definitely going to add this to my daily routine. It's much less of an ordeal, and easier to do even in public..

I'm surprised that I actually felt a difference after just one session! As I'm with mental health, including ADHD which I often consider the reason of overstimulation and brain fog as my daily companions, I'm actually surprised that something as simple as "breathing less" seems to have an instant boost to by mental clarity. I'm gonna repeat this practice multiple times a day throughout the week - even if it just helps a little, I take any drugless improvement I can get.

All the things ya gotta do with ADHD just to feel kinda ok - it’s a full time job! I don’t think I felt immediate difference but I’m going to add it into my routine!

Its probably not breathing less but stimulation lung to supply more oxygen to the system and brain.

We Hindus will do as a normal spiritual activity. And followed by changing Aum(om) slowly until the stomach squeeze in and repeat like 108 times. Reply me after continuous 48 days practice 🙏🏻

Try taking Kalawalla or fern leaves as tea, lantana Camara, and sea moss. You can take them one at a time. You'll see so much improvement
