Such a brilliant demonstration 👏 because the filming/editing made the operation super clear and Dr Nancy's description of her excellent operation made it exceptionally easy to follow.
It is absolutely fascinating. I love watching the great work you do to help these majestic animals. After all, they have helped us for years. Thank you .
Yes me too! The people who don't have the stomach for such things shouldn't be involved with animals and have no need to watch the very informative posts that HPHS film and produce.
I agree Marie! Keith and helpers I assume, did a great job! Nice background color for filming, too! Glad to see the auction sticker go away so Blaze can have a clean slate with great expectations!
Good job Dr.Nancy. I have never seen a castration before. I have seen where they put the bands on calf’s. Thank you for letting us observe. I always learn something on this channel.
Again, THANK YOU for another EXCELLENT informational video, including excellent video coverage of s common medical procedure taken for granted by those of us who don't know better. After these documentary videos, I almost feel like I could go out into the field and perform some of these surgeries myself, following your thorough instructions and explanations. Every one of these videos is a TREAT for me. I hope prospective veterinarians watch your surgeries so when they graduate, they can do things THE RIGHT WAY when they start their careers.
@@marieparsons9908 Right?! There's so many of them! People feeding live animals to other animals, often animals that are way too large for the other animal too, feeding them way too much, they're obviously obese often... and the comments are so disturbing... and yet it's impossible to get those channels taken down. But the creators who call those people out and expose them for their abuse somehow get their videos age-restricted, taken down, or even their channels banned because the algorithm triggers on them talking about abuse. And obviously, in those horrible videos they don't call it that because they're so devoid of any empathy or humanity that they don't even see it as abuse. So showing the abuse is fine, but calling it abuse isn't?! RU-vid needs to get their sh*t together and realize that the current algorithms and methods are having the exact opposite effect of what it should be.
Oooohhhh Another couple of Sandi followers. I love how kind and gentle she is with the babies who many others would just plain give up on. She really really cares for those lovely sheep of hers. I really like now how she made that special ""retirement place "" for the older ewes to live out there lives happily and relaxed and loved . Not sold off for the last couple of dollars near the end of their lives And dragged off to slaughter like alot of elderly stock to old to make more babies do sadly. Sandi tries so hard. Goes that extra few steps. That extra couple of seconds Cries when the ewe dies lambing or a lamb dies she's worked so hard to save. The heartbreak you see in her eyes when she found those stillborn babies that were mummified and or the ones that they were like rubber and had no solid bone structure. And all the other horrible things she's had to see happen to all those sheep. And you know genuinely she loves them. All of them. Not just the few she regularly talks about. But all those sheep. And I'm sure they know it. In their own way I'm sure they probably love her too. And I'm a silly old man who's way too sensitive for his own good at 52. But I'm First nations NAVAJO and we have a feel different connections sometimes. I can't explain it. It just is there. Non first nations people sometimes have it too. Most children have it from birth. Sometimes it stays with them. Sometimes it DOSENT. But we have connections to things we love and enjoy for a reason. More than just oh that one's cute. Or that one's a pretty color. Call it God/God's/ Something else. I don't know I don't have all the answers. I can just go with what feels right. And help as many people and animals and plant life along the way as I can. Yes I'm the idiot singing to my plants. 😂😂
The title "Brain surgery (gelding)"! 😂 🤣 Love it! An inexpensive, easy surgery for the horse; and it makes for a better horse, and the horse will have a better life! I've seen it done standing; under less sedation. In this case of closer; Dr Nancy gave a little more sedation to lay him down, and get all the rest of the stuff done.
Such an informative post, so glad you don't blur out the action like so many do. I hope the butchers at the auctions who butchered that poor horse and caused it's intestines to fall out after attempting to geld him, HPHS had to buy him just to give him the last act of kindness to end his suffering after they literally butchered the poor horse buy trying to do the same operation that Dr Nancy has just performed so professionally.
That was incredible! I’ve always wanted to see how Gelding was done and now I have. I love this channel so much. Thanks Dr. Nancy and Team. 😃👍. ☘️☘️🇮🇪☘️☘️
Fantastic video. I learn something new from this type of raw medical video. Thank you so much for making this available. Dr Nancy ….🥰 Keith…. keep to your carpentry work- hair dresser.. not so much 😂🤣 Much love ❤️ 💕
Cyndie. “His future family “? He just got his “family jewels “ removed, so the possibility of having a “future family is pretty bleak “, don’t you think?🙄
Fascinating to see these procedures up close -- I love this channel. Did you do Ginger's club foot surgery yesterday? Looking forward to an update on her!
This has been so interesting. If I was younger, (much younger lol) I'd love to be a vet tech, especially if I could work for Dr. Nancy or Dr. Lydia. I love horses and I know Dr. Nancy does, too. Thanks HP and Dr. Nancy for the opportunity to learn about these procedures.
I'm sure it probably does but that thick dark blood it just stops on its own? Has there ever been one that hasn't stopped? Just seemed like A LOT of dark blood!! I love these videos. Dr Nancy is awesome. Straight forward no nonsense dgaf how the haters see it. If the horse needs it and it's the best for them that's what she does!! Just love her!!! So glad this channel is doing these vids. You learn so much more about the medical cases and side of these beautiful babies!
I was just wondering if the scrotum gets stitched up after the gelding? I would imagine so….?🤷🏻♀️ Great informative video Dr. Nancy. You really know your “stuff”….God Bless you, your staff and all the noble horses🙏🏼🍀👋🏼🇨🇦
Would it be the difference between a castration and a vasectomy? One would leave hormones intact, and castration would not. But that's a big difference, maybe cut vs proud cut is something more subtle.
Well there is certainly no doubt as to how that surgery is done after watching that. The sound of that clamp/cutter doing it's thing makes me cringe a bit, but he should be a happier, healthier horse for having that done.
For an owner surrender (admittedly rescued from kill pipeline, explaining the existence of the sticker), why is the sticker still stuck on the tail? Did the owner ever actually take possession of him? Or was he paid for and given to you right away?
IT'S BETTER TO LEAVE IT OPEN, SO THAT, IT CAN DRAIN, FREELY. IF YOU STITCH IT, THE SKIN MAY SEAL, TOO SOON, AND SEAL SOME BAD STUFF INSIDE, WHERE IT WILL ABCESS. IF IT'S OPEN, THE INNER PART HAS TIME TO HEAL, BEFORE THE SKIN CLOSES. DRIPPING FLUIDS MAY LOOK "GROSS," BUT, THEY ARE WASHING AWAY THE BACTERIA.
Not recommended even for the dogs because of the sedation meds given to the horse. Can you imagine a rocky mountain oyster lunch that puts you to sleep afterward for a bit? What a trip that would be.
They're referring to the fact that males tend to think with their sex organs. This procedure redirects those thoughts into a different direction. So, yeah... brain surgery.
