I love playing as villains. Doesn't matter the format, translating antagonistic forces into a playable fashion results in some fascinating gameplay. Playing as the Zerg in Starcraft would be awesome enough on it's own, but having that gameplay make one feel like they're part of a massive alien hive mind? That's awesome! Or how about the roster of Dissidia? Having a Heroes vs. Villains theme would be cool enough, but all of those villains are beefed up with insane abilities and underhanded tactics that heroes would never dare use! And of course, how could I forget the perfectly translated boss fight that is K. Rool in Smash?
But I'm a Smash Brothers fan, even when graced with perfection I can't help but wonder what other possibilities could exist. As great as Smash is, it's playable villains leave something to be desired, don't they? And while Kirby is far from the most egregious example of that (Team Rocket? Anyone?), I do think that series has the most interesting potential in that regard. Between the juxtaposition of Kirby's innocence and the terror of his enemies, the themes of corruption, possession and body horror, a Kirby villain becoming playable could result in an awfully wonderful fighter! And while there are many potential candidates to fill that role, I think Dark Matter is the perfect representative to showcase them all and celebrate why these boss fights are so damn good!

It is a fun story though, I'd recommend watching it!
Just... Look at that thumbnail. Look at what that insanely talented madman created. My original pitch was basically "Hey, have Dark Matter possess the most innocent character like it would Dedede, that'll be eye catching!" but MadArts, the mad lad himself, went ABOVE and BEYOND with this one. The decapitation was ALREADY more than what I was expecting, but to combine that with Dark Matter's eye replacing Isabelle's and swelling to grotesque proportions was just... it's horrifying! I love it! And it purely came from Mad Arts's imagination, so please go support him in whatever way you can!

Another shoutout to Mixkit, a free resource for content creators that I used for most of the cool transitions found in this video. Any video editors out there should really check them out, I highly recommend it!

Just as a bit of an update on future plans, as I have been talking about redoing videos before making new ones: That is still something I plan on doing. It's still something I feel like I need to do. But the current strategy simply isn't working, so moving forward I'm going to alternate between new and old topics. Hopefully that will speed up the creation process? Time will tell, I suppose.
Lastly, if you like this content, consider joining the channel! I don't run ads on these videos because they mess with the flow of content and I haaaaaaate the feeling of profiting from inconvenience. No pressure either way, but any support would be much appreciated!:
