11+ year Mimaki field technician here. Sorry you seemed to have fought so much with your printer. I don't know what began your issue with the black channel but I can tell you you were at least on the right track. As you probably already know, the same ink lines feed all 4 channels for each color. So in the case of the black, all 4 are being fed by the same ink lines coming from the cartridges. So if only one channel isn't working but everything else is then of course it has to be something specific with that channel. While it's always good practice to replace your caps and pumps (OE if you can) I don't believe that was your issue here. The damper was a good start BUT if it was working before an ink change (I think that's what you said in part 1) then the likely hood of a damper being a fault are low. What has likely taken place is air in the lines still. The 300 series, because the way all of the lines split off, is a bit of a pain to get out. It's actually easier to manually bleed the air out. Once you know the air is out then you can do an ink fill up. Drain the dampers out completely before you do so, especially for the middle dampers because you cant see them. Once the ink fill is done you can check the damper to see if theres ink in it. If so, you know your have proper priming. If it's still not firing it's likely the head. If there isn't much ink or no ink in the damper then you likely have an air leak at the damper.
Hello I’m currently having an issue with my JV150-160 that’s similar but different very slightly. Is their any way I could grab a quick consult. Happy to send you some funds as well
i had a mat cutting machine for ten years, this misery is so familiar, Then you get busy, skip making time for the maintenance *just this week, I promise* because you are doing 12 hour days 7 days a week, then when you do take a day off a member of staff screws up the machine, or tries "calibrating" it .... you can end up in a constant cycle of catch-up after a couple of days machine down time. Calibrated beyond all repair. Hope that thing earns it's money after the amount of grief you seem to get from it. Is that a new office or an extra one? Nice to see you doing OK, been following your channel from the start. And some people still think the boss has an easy time 😂
Unfortunately, I'm yet to consolidate the office with the rest of the equipement. But yes, my life more or less consists of running between every piece of equipement, starting it, running it - then it decides to break, trying to fix it, need to leave for the office, fix something that broke there, returnign to find working machines rout of of the media, reload, more fix and so on. :D
Only just found your channel when trying to choose between a mimaki and a Roland as a first eco solvent printer. Did you manage to get your printer working in the end?
It never stopped working completely but yes, it is in well working condition currently. I was also facing the choice of these two brands at the start. I've made my choice as you can see and I don't think I chose wrong.
@@imagegraphics16 It was a combination of several things. Changing dampers, not just a damper is a good call. Be cautious of non original dampers. On some occasions they do not form a tight seal and leak the inks onto your printhead.
@@imagegraphics16 i have use aliexpress damper for 3 years the pressure wasnt good , so i change the damper and did a normal fill up ink and everything came back to normal :)
