Its small, compact and easy to travel with MUST (have headphones though). Or, you can use a 3.5mm to 1/4 cable and run directly into AMP, if you do, however, just get a POD GO or Positive Grid Spark2.
Well are there any better ones? Genuine question. If there are other good ones out there please let me know. Im just getting back into guitar after years off and this thing looks amazing.
NUX MightPlug and its Pro version have been around for quite long, have a large user community providing even more libraties of sounds etc. Similar user-friendly visual amp and pedal set-up. Also with bluetooth. One big advantage for me is that it also functions as an audio interface. You can connect it to your DAW. Fender Mustang Micro Plus is probably good but it is not the only one. You can search for a comparison.
@mehmetnaciakkk3983 brilliant thanks for that. Was just down in the local guitar shop there and the guy showed me a BOSS ME 90. Much bigger money but he says he gigs with it and doesn't even need an amp of any sort. I'm starting to think I was born in the wrong decade! Thanks again.
@@DevRSVRI have the original Mustang micro and it sounds great to me. I am thinking of upgrading to this one though since it looks like they got rid of the awful color coding system (colorblind here). If you’re looking at pedalboards and the Boss ME I might suggest the Line 6 Pod Go instead. Go used, and You’ll be getting the same modeling algorithm as their higher end Helix models for less.
I got a NUX Mightly Plug Pro like 1.5yrs ago that allows adjusting all the presets. It's good but only having 8 presets available kind of sucks. That being said, I just picked up one of these to compare the two.
You’ll be able to direct input it into a mixing table or computer … but you could get jack adaptor to plug it into a cab … hard to say if it’ll have the power to drive the speakers the way it’s supposed to tho
Still no drums and short looper? Positive Grid 2 already has a looper but they have this product segment. Most likely Katana GO 2 will include looper and drums..
Did the original katana go have a looper? I haven't seen any news on whether Boss will re-release the Katana GO we've seen or an upgraded version, or when.
@@Toddler1967 Nope, the KTNGO have no looper. I am just guessing they will include this to stay in the game.. Rumors say most likely December release for new KTNGO
Didnt like the original,no gain control on any preset but i did love the fact that you didnt need to use an app.if you want to use an app you cant beat the NUX mighty plug pro.the boss katana go sounded great but was discontinued for some reason i play thrash and metal and have always used the Vox metal amplug with no app.have the flamma amplug which is ok but has the bonus of drum tracks
The Katana Go was bizarrely pulled from production due to a difficulty in sourcing parts. Or at least that's what Boss officially said. In hoping that the release of this device will prompt Boss to get a new Go out so we can have a comparison. Sorry but this review isn't great and commentary is a bit OTT and as if the Katana Go and Mighty Plug never existed.
Boss dropped the ball with the Katana:Go! ... IMHO a much more versatile unit than the Mustang Micro Plus, but I think Fender's offering has the more friendlier and intuitive UI.
@@michaeldean7220 … there are individuals that do have the Katana:Go in their possession… I’m one of them. I got a hold of the Micro Plus and will compare both devices. For me, I think I already have use cases for both. They are practice amps and, for me, they are nothing more. I’ll use the Micro Plus with my electric guitars and keep the Katana:Go in Bass Mode for bass practice.
Well I hope it’s better than the previous fender micro. I mean it was not bad but the connection to my guitar kept shorting out had to fiddle with it constantly ….. heard that other people had the same problem with it. It wasn’t my guitar as I also have the katana go and that thing is great.
If you have an input jack that doesn’t provide enough room for plugin devices like this, a very easy solution that works for every one of them is to buy a double female 1/4” thing that is commonly available and very inexpensive. They are used often to extend cord lengths by sound guys. You then put a small cable like you use with effect pedals on boards,,plug that in your guitar, plug into the double female cord extender, then plug the device into the other end. There are many brands like Ibanez that people can’t plug boss wireless plugins into, they buy the cord extender and the problem is solved very easily.
I think the device is really nice, but boy do you make it a hard sell - your sound/tone is terrible! All the other demoes I have seen have a really good sound, but yours sound brittle and fizzy and overdriven in bad way (like the dynamic range of the device is naxed out…)
Trying hard to sell an overpriced gadget that will most likely sit idle for most of the year. Been the case for the first gen model. If you're at home practicing, might as well connect to the laptop for greater control rather than this proposition. Would be a good pick up at say 60 ish but not its current RRP.
That’s a bit rediculous for the amount of control these things give you, the kat go runs rings around this thing stock, souped up with the right midi apps you can positively make it dance. The RRP of 130 euro is spot on. Usage of headphone amps like this have historically shown guitarists doubling or tripling their playing time as you can do it anywhere either in silence or connected to loudspeakers. Do some basic research in the various groups. This has been a really consistent metric ever since 2019 with the WAZA air coming out
Fail. You'd think they'd invented the wheel the way this dudes going on about it. Should be able to connect to bluetooth headphones in the 21st century. Also If you don't own a Strat you either can't see the screen or will have to keep adjusting so you can.
Because it's not a review but an advertisement. They are the music stores after all. We should really have independent reviewers in the guitar space like gamernexus is on the PC world.
Current Bluetooth 5 standards still need to invoke heavy duty compression for audio. What you’re asking for simply doesn’t exist on the market. CME those widi guys are working on a new standard that will support stereo audio without the huge levels of latency but this is still very much in development.
